Well of course she doesn't look like the liver eating type. If you are the liver eating type of girl, you want to make very sure not to look like you eat peoples livers, otherwise you get less livers to eat because people are gonna stay away from you. Who wants to get his liver eaten, after all. So logically, the ones that look the least like they are going to eat your livers are most likely to eat your liver. Always keep that in mind.
Cass, on the other hand, is a snake. She doesn't even have the teeth necessary to selectively eat your liver. She is either gonna swallow you completely, or not at all. But i guess if she eats you completely, that also means that she eats your liver.

The answer is easy: because this way the art team is not limited by the visual upgrade teams progress. "Hey guys, look, I finished my awesome Malphite splash!! - Sorry dude, Malp vu gonna be 8 months from now, so yeah."

Because making a new splash is a lot easier than making a new in game model.

That's indeed a big issue, especially when there is a big change in the general look of the character. For most of the recent splashes it's not that problematic, but look at Tristana's for example : the ingame model corresponds with her old splash really well, and looks nothing like the new one. So even though the new splash is nice, in the end it's gonna feel cheap and lame to play with such a bad in-game model.

With a not-dumb/dark portrait.
What are you talking about? The new Shen splash art isn't muddy at all. Are you using some cheap TN-Panel LCD display that lacks proper colour depth? I see a lot of definition in the picture and it looks plenty bright and awesome but then I'm using a high gamut IPS display (not that readability on low-end displays isn't important, I'm just saying that I don't see the issue and that's one possible reason why our views differ).

Honestly it's bad advertising aswell. For new players for example, they be like: "Hmm, who or what am I going to choose... Oh this guy looks fucking badass.." And then they get that clunky looking statue thing with a weird ass horn in game. It's like you're not getting what you've payed for, but since the game is completely free I guess that's what they're trying to shove in our throats haha.

I personally really like the new shen splash. It's one of the few splashes that have a passive pose. Doesn't lack for definition on my phone or laptop either.

Well, have fun getting your liver eaten in that case. Personally, i tend to err on the side of caution when the topic is the eating of my liver. I like my liver, i need it to live.
And personally i don't really care WHY she would eat my liver, if it is for fun, for nutrition, or just because my liver is so damn tasty. I still don't want it to be eaten.

Nope, she just use their desires to lure them and more easily consume their "essence", which gets her closer and closer to becoming human.
'cept by becoming human she also develops stuff like mercy and remorse, and she's finding harder and harder to just kill people to "perfect" herself. That part was why she joined the League ("Work for us, we find a way for you to turn human without having to kill anymore") so it'll probably be retconned once they make a pass on her.
I guess you could interpret "feeding on their desires" both as "having sex with them" (which is implied by her seducing men and consuming their essence while they're vulnerable) and/or "building her new nature from the desires which drive humans' lives".

They should just keep the portraits the same tbh. Have cool looking splash and same hero icons. Don't know why they have to be the same. The two aren't really linked aside from if you specifically looking at it.

Jannas Splash is allready good, why change it to this alien.
Ahri is also bad now, lost some of her charm.
Wukong just looks like an intern did it.
I like Kayle Splash, makes her look more according to her lore (which they killed, but still).
Tristana also looks according to her lore.
IDK about shen, he looks like he is melting or something.

I think splash art X is the coolest while splash art Y is the least cool.
Splash art Z is not sexy enough while splash art W is the sexiest of all.
I hate riot for doing things but I also hate people for hating riot for doing things.

Also, more Janna's head is 0/10. I wouldn't mind the transition of her eyes into less human (maybe new lore explains it?), nor the emotionless face (same), but why on earth hdid they have to make it so. damn. UGLY. Okay, not every women's face is gorgeous, and cute, and sexy, and likeable, but come on, she's like an alien. Then you hear her talk in game and wonder how can such a delicate voice match this... butcher face.

Why? No one looks at the splash art. That's only there for the person actually playing the hero. Everyone else identifies the hero by the icon. Even the person that picks the hero identifies it by the icon. The new splashes all have hard to read icons so if you want to lower the confusions then you could just keep the old icons that are already linked to that hero in people's mind and change the splash to the new ones for people that like eyecandy.
