from the lolesports twitter. I assume game doesn't matter as long as you have the runes:

Quick statistics on new Jungle. Format: Large Minion (Small Minions)

Frog: 200xp, 72g
Blue: 100xp, 42g (50xp, 22g & 20xp, 7g)
Wolves: 144xp, 42g (30xp, 10g)
Raptors: 140xp, 42g (20xp, 6g)
Red: 100xp, 42g (50xp, 22g)
Golems: 150xp, 66g (50xp, 18g)

Aside from the Smite Last Hit bug, the only oddities I've noted are:

  • One of the two small monsters at blue gives less experience and gold.
  • Smiting the Golem camp also gives you a small amount of bonus gold in addition to the execute damage buff.

The former is important because the missing 30xp is the difference between being able to hit level 6 in two clears (around 6:05) or needing to steal lane xp/hunt a crab to hit 6.

Interesting.

You said 2 clears takes like 6:05 game time, what champion are you playing? How does the actual clear itself compare to now?

6:05 is for faster junglers. So far I've tested Nautilus, Rammus, Nocturne, Warwick, and less seriously Akali and Karthus. Slower junglers (e.g. Nautilus) still finish the second clear around 6:20. I might have dabbled in a few others but that was during the very early "wtf is this" stage where I didn't have my feet under me.

The clear itself is a little nerve-wracking. For efficiency you want to clear one small camp with Smite, kill another while you're waiting for the buff camp to spawn/Smite to come off CD, and then grab a buff. However, for a lot of junglers this involves taking a lot of damage and it's constantly pinging my "it would absolutely suck if somebody showed up right now" alarm. The primary culprit is the Raptor camp, but the others do significant damage as well.

Some of that may just be working out setups/routes etc. Note also that this doesn't involve any ganks. Once people have worked out the kinks I imagine we'll see more ganks and gank-optimized routes. The point about the potential for a quick level 6 was somewhat academic, mostly to point out how much experience is in the jungle now.

As an aside recalling isn't as punishing with the PBE changes. The faster fountain ticks and in-base movement speed buff allow you to get back in the field significantly faster.

Was it still nerve racking on WW, or was it mostly no big deal?

I guess the other thing with that means its probably a lot harder to invade, because if you screw up at that point then you are straight up screwed S1 style. I think everyone has nightmares of dying to Shaco a couple times and just being like level 2 when the rest of the game is like level 6, but I also remember quite a few games where like your mid laner show'd up and you were smart enough to not walk into the brush stacked with 6 boxes and it was just the opposite.

I'm interested to see how this new jungle works out. Definitely super curious.

It wasn't nerve-wracking on WW, Rammus, or Nautilus (but I ran full Armor runes on the latter too so that's not terribly surprising). It's the junglers without tons of built-in tank/sustain that have been making me nervous. Again, a lot of this may come down to setups and routes.

I think it's early to make any conclusions about invading, or much of anything really. Too many variables have changed, and more changes may happen yet.

I haven't run extensive tests on early Nautilus jungle but I am fairly confident than even in the current jungle Armor quints are the best for 1st clear and I can imagine they would be rather useful for later as well.

Yup, they're pretty good. However I usually dislike rushing mobis and Nautilus' MS is atrocious (being able to walk in E or auto range is pretty important so you can hold onto your Q; well actually E range only matters if you sneak in behind because the cast animation means you usually won't catch up to anyone even with rank 5 E), so I tend to rely on MS quints instead for the utility.

Monte, are you doing these "naked" or with a leash? I assume naked so your timers aren't affected by how big of a leash you get, however if you take a bunch of damage on the first camp then it can be safe to assume you'll be a lot healthier in actual games?
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

Not getting a leash is fairly common in 2v2/1v1 setups with calm lvl1s imo

with junglers who dont exactly require it anyway

Also, nvm, must have been misremembering my tests or I ran them way back on a different patch, flat AP quints are significantly better for Naut's first clear than Armor is (about 4-5s difference)

That's interesting. Means I have the advantage over all them scrubs who started playing late cuz I have all the runes needed for S1 jungle.

Would be kind of nice seeing tanky runes clear healthier than offensive runes again, now on most jungles offensive runes keep you healthier due to how fast stuff dies.

You'll only have a leash from a support at best if you start Frog camp on purple or double golems on blue. the new jungle spawns the same time the sidelane minions collide, so its very difficult to get a proper leash, also the supports in solo queue will 100% not stay as long as they should to help facilitate a gank off of blue/red because the support needs to stay until the camp dies to do that. or just be soraka and heal bot you.

90% of players assume vayne is trash because they play against trash vaynes then they get absolutely wrecked by someone who knows what theyre doing with her so it ends up balancing out.

this argument is totally inane wtf?
vayne isn't that high profile of a champion that everyone has a fucking assumption they make that somehow affects winrates

It's not the assumption that Vaynes are bad, it's the fact most players aren't used to playing against good Vaynes so when they run into one they don't really know what to do and get obliterated. Let's say the generic crappy Vayne player has a winrate of like 30%, whereas Vayne mains have a winrate of like 70%. This ends up to an overall winrate of like 40% or something which looks kind of okay but is actually not a particularly useful statistic because the population is bipolar.

This probably holds true to some degree for a number of champs, especially those which have somewhat different playstyles from others that fill a certain role. Vayne just happens to be a particularly strong example because she falls so far outside the AD (or marksman, or did Riot give up on that?) archetype.

Where are these good Vaynes with 70% winrate (or at least 60+) over a significant number of games? I can't find any.

This one really bugged me at the time even ignoring what he said about Regi he insulted every single one of his readers he thought I'm so smart ill use this analogy about an ape that way I can call Regi an ape, in the midst of other insults, then when people focus on the ape part I can insult them too.

He knew he was calling Regi an ape just thought he was too smart to get caught for it

TBH I can forget the ape comments and shit, what always bugged me about Thoorin is how he presents himself when he gets heckled. He can't let a remark against him go. Every time anything is said on Reddit about him in a negative light, he feels the need to retaliate and act smug about it later. It's the TB syndrome.

That said, I completely respect and appreciate the content he brings to the community, and that until people of similar content-creating ability come around, we're going to have to bear with him, unless we want to be stuck with Travis interviews until the end of time.
