I had a big argument in a game with a Jarvan who was adamant that Malzahar MUST build Liandry's Torment. As far as I'm concerned LT is a noob trap item for Malzahar (yes I realize most pros build it). I should probably experiment with it but I don't like playing my core champions in normals and I'd rather stick to builds that I know work in ranked. | ||

I can see Haunting Guise because penetration is super strong when you have so much pure damage at your disposal, but LT should not be a priority on him at all. Unless they've changed how LT's proc works refreshing the proc munches ticks, which means Malzahar's abilities munch ticks like crazy. | ||

I hate giving up item flexibility. Some games you NEED Hourglass and there's no way you can delay it until like 3rd-4th item. I have a hard time giving up Athene also. Liandry-Rylai would need to do like 50% more damage to justify building it over Hourglass-Grail, which can't possible be the case. | ||

Clearly it's not a matchup I'd want to have, but I also want to be able to figure it out for the times it ends up happening. Hourglass is super important asap, but giving up Rylai's first really sucks T_T On that note, I've just recently started taking exhaust against assassins as any mid (why I didn't do this before I have no idea), and it's really quite lovely. Makes Annie vs assassin even more simple, and it lets me fudge Cass vs assassin at gold level fairly well. | ||
