He's been compared to Faker because of his "accomplishments" in solo-que, and his near-mythical status due to being banned from competitive play and having a "bad boy" image. In my personal opinion. It's ridiculous how people who will struggle to name all the members of the SK Telecom T1 S team, and are barely familiar with the Korean scene except Faker, pretend Apdo is some kind of the "evil version of Faker" just because they saw him beat Faker a couple of times in solo-que games. He is now the most notorious amateur player out there, and just like he tried to leech fame by trying to duel versus better amateur players like DoSoo in season 2, players who have "beaten" Apdo like Doinbi are claiming they are the best amateur players. In the end, it's all meaningless, and it's the battle of the egos between kids who are very good solo-que players. By the way, for those who seriously believe that solo-que performance defines what kind of a player you are. Kinsh, the guy that got kicked out of CJ Entus reached the number one spot on solo-que (because he had more time on his hands than the other professionals), something MadLife couldn't do at the time, not because he was inferior, but because he had better things to do. The 70% win rate theory presented by LS is iffy since ClearLove managed to do the same, yet I dare anyone to claim that he is a better player than KaKAO just because his win rate of his solo-que challenger account is superior. Solo-que is just solo-que, and people have different needs for it. For some, it's to try out new things, for people like Apdo, it's how they get their street cred, and for others, it's just for fooling around while streaming. I've watched all the famous Korean streamers that started their "careers" on PotPlayer, and Apdo was one of them. Seriously, the guy a sick good, but the status to which some people claim him to be, are simply out of place. | ||

It makes sense in soloqueue because everyone understands the support buys the sight but in a coordinated game it makes sense for everyone to be as efficiently built as everyone else since its easy to coordinate builds. And sightstone just isn't efficient on AP damage focused supports. | ||

The only really effective way to stop it is by banning enough boosted accounts so that no one wants to risk boosting. But doing that is hard especially if boosting is done smart. | ||
