Can it be boiled down to a 2-step flowchart or is it more subtle and based on your individual understanding of the hero and the game at large? A small number of possible decisions doesn't make the decision easy. Idk realistically you get the same items every single game, just a matter of what order you get them tbh. If the team is lopsided to some degree(more ap than ad) you might throw in an extra negatron item, or an extra armor item if its the other way
there isnt really any thought to itemization in league tbh. items are clear cut better than others and those you should always get, and then awful items which you should never get

See, I'm in promos, first game has the team try an "invade" against a superior enemy team and feed 1-5 while our Wukong loses at least one buff and his still level 1 at 3 minutes, with 3-0 Kayle destroying everyone and Udyr casually walking top to take the tower 2v1 because they are all so behind. It wasn't exactly fun (and Kayle+Ryze+Lucian scales way too well for us to "take it to lategame").
2nd game I'm last pick, tell them that AD's my worst role and I'd rather avoid it, they ignore me and force me to it. I'm trying my best but there's not much to be done.

While we are at different kinds of builds can anybody tell me what to build on Aatrox? I always kinda randomly decided between items like Botrk, Hydra, Zephyr and various defensive items. Defensive items are most of the time easy to get right but I'm still not sure what is the best offensive item (or items) in any kind of situation.

Unless I'm duelling a hyper tank like shyv/mundo which means botrk I normally go hydra into defensive items (Spirit visage is mandatory for hilarious 1v5s on low health). Zephyr is normally a luxury if I'm really ahead. Guardian angel is also mandatory on aatrox for obvious reasons

Randuins Visage are the two core items after botrk/hydra. You can go glassy and get just a GA or a combination of any of those and a Banshee's if needed.

That is kinda what I have been doing all the time, does anyone actually know how people (maybe koreans) do runes and masteries for him? I have been going 21/9 (9/21 in rare cases) and did armor and mr with ad quints and reds.

I'm not sure why it does that though maybe its a evolutionary thing to lead you to find competent companions or some thing Oh no it's a psychological defense mechanism, your brain wants to protect your ego from threats so it reacts in one of many different ways, this being one of the more common ones.

BotRK is more of a splitpush item (more AS, better dueling in general, and against the bruisers likely to come after you specifically) while Hydra is better for teamfighting (more burst healing, and burst in general, in teamfights from what I've seen Aatrox prefers to just yolo in or initiate and being able to last the longest possible is more important, your slew of steroids will provide the damage you need to be a threat). Randuin's for diving in and SV for sustain (and the synergy with your passive) are obvious defensive items, GA too to be a pain. You can get a LW for 6th item I guess so your damage remains relevant even when going for Hydra.
I have no idea which runes and masteries to use though.

It doesn't kill towers that fast though, and Aatrox's ratios aren't that good anyway.

I think they could maybe nerf the numbers on his ult slightly but besides that Braum isn't that OP imo.

From a tactical point of view but not a strategic. I will change targets if the enemy AD is strong vs the enemy AP. I will ignore peel if the enemy tank/divers don't have the stats to dive my AD. But i won't decide to build damage if the enemy tank is weaker than normal and i won't decide to build tanky if the enemy AD is stronger than normal You should.Your role in a game can change depending on what has happened so far.
I don't believe so. The relative team composition determines your role. If you're changing your role depending on whats happened its because you've misjudged what your role should be, not because the enemy AP being fed suddenly means that your team needs a DPS instead of a tank or vice versa.

Well, irelia peaks mid-game where Jax peaks late-game. Not sure if you can call it poor, if you manage to do pre-30 wins (as irelia that is).

So TOO is spamming Kayle like crazy in NA solo queue. Builds Spectral Wraith and DPS. He does really well. Is this the new OP?

You are the problem with League.
Shaco players are literal cancer, worse than Soraka.
