i think as far as it goes ryze should be happy with a lane like that, if you are confident in your late game just chill under tower np.

Those are for competitive games though. In soloQ there are tons of good champions that are not even remotely good in competitive.

Mid game can snowball on global plays which lead to quick wins but as games get longer they're harder to make use because the enemy will tend to be grouped more and because the enemy will be able to avoid the global ults. Pantheon has a weaker late game because of it Really? Shen used to be very important lategame, and Twisted Fate, and teleport has always been considered a late game summoner.

Pantheon doesn't have a good way to splitpush unless he's really ahead. Both Shen and TF can splitpush quite successfully. Shen cause he can just pressure a lane. If you come after him, he will take forever to kill and even has a good chance of escaping cause of E over walls and stuff. TF cause he melts towers with W and lichbane, can duel well against both squishies with his burst, and tanks with his low cooldown stun and quite good sustained damage. Not to mention a TF with lichbane and/or spooky ghost + MS quints/masteries is damn hard to catch unless you surround him. Because Pantheon can't really duel tanks and isn't even that good vs squishies (talking lategame here), and on top of that, cant run away nearly as well as the other two, the split push threat of his ultimate is a lot weaker. The best way to use pantheons ultimate lategame is to force an objective, then use ult to cut off the other team while your team engages. This, however, requires more coordination than what's available in some (most?) soloq games. If you place your ult too far away from your team, you run the risk of dying before your team even gets into the fight, resulting in "omg panth why suicide??"-comments from your team. And if you ult too close to your team, the other team might get away with only Talisman burned.
