I've been trying her out too at ~Gold 4, and you're spot on about needing strong lanes for her to have the time and safety to farm up. I've felt a bit mana constrained at times, but it's probably just mismanagement on my part. I've been maxing W and occasionally using Q on camps, and ganks have always left me <100 mana. It's not as bad post-Wraith, so I've taken to just telling my lanes not to expect me unless they're absurdly shoved in and capable of providing hard cc.

4th item probably needs to be a randuins/veil so you can keep initiating confidently, though I could see the merits of Void Staff if you trust your team to do most of the heavy lifting while you're in stasis.

Or if you are not safe to blow E you can do Q>R>W>Q>R>R>W>Q all with procs. Combined with the damage from her passive, she DESTROYS objectives (if you have proper mana).

She's also hard to counter jungle because only a select few junglers can 1v1 her at any point in the game (Lee, Elise mainly). A lot of people don't respect this and hunt you in your jungle only to realize they made a big mistake thanks to all the free dmg from you passive. You E also works well because even while running (unless sub 5% hp) you can pull people to you and use the slow it gives to run away.

Her early game sucks, her mid game is god, and her end game is good if you did alright. She can fall VERY far behind however if you get killed early and cannot secure extra blues. Always assume your 1st gank will need flash, if you don't hesitate on it and get close, her lvl 3-4 ganks are very strong.

One last thing, learn the timing/range to do the Q>Ult where you land the ult before the Q lands yet you still get the reset. The extra second or so of timing is huge.

On an unrelated note, when the hell are they gonna change her ult not stacking passive bug? Been forever, and wasnt fixed as of last patch ;(.

How are her ganks pre 6? I'm guessing main goal before that point is just to farm and counter jungle if possible,

If you can flash into range lvl 3+ (or they just are very badly overextended), they are very strong, that W/passive is craziness at low levels. However if you can't, absolute dog shit and you just power farm to 6.

Why would he ult stack her passive?

The biggest issues I have when I play Diana is that I feel so crowded on my first item. To put her in the jungle with an extra 2k before getting those items seems stifling as all hell. That and NLR from jungle seems agonizing.

I do miss running around feeling like a Jedi in league. (Her outfit reminds me of some Jedi armor in TOR, main thing that got me interested in her in the first place.)

Teambuilder is confusing. Heimer mid = average queue time, zyra mid (and most mids) = short, yet that's the standard position for both and as team captain you have no say over what champions people pick for what role. Why the anti-heimer bias?

edit: plus there's lulzy stuff, like, you get a shorter predicted queue time for bot lane annie mage than bot lane annie support. WTF is going on here?

I think people just want more playmaking out of the support position than the standard heal and peel.

Because it did since release up until the patch where they changed auto attack resets. So if you did Q>R>R the follow up auto would be stacked with her passive. Tweeted Feral Pony and he said it was an unintended change.

How the heck should that even work to begin with? There's never been any mention in any skill description regarding that and it's not even consistent, since a spell without any aa component would stack an aa-based passive?

I fucking hate players who play champions with specific mechanics (biggest example would be globals like shen) and have NO idea how to use them, like this isnt even rage because i havent lost games because of it in god knows how long, ive seen people stomp shit with the likes of shen, karthus and completely miss easy shit because they cant use the ultis.

Really infuriating just to think about D: Why do people play these types of champions and not learn how to make use of what makes them unique and good?

I never even noticed. Didn't even bother looking because the passive says autos and the ult doesn't mention anything about onhits.
