There are situations where KDA is better, and also situations where kill participation is more insightful. And of course situations where neither is at all relevant. Ideally we would have as many stats as possible, but that's obviously not practical for a stream platform. Dota 2's in-client observer mode (which is fantastic) allows viewers to choose what to see, but it's easy to see why no one wants to clutter a stream with numbers if that's the only way to watch a game. The League of Legends teamfight UI is, however, unequivocally awful. Personally, I'd like CS to be less prominent of a statistic, since from an analysis perspective, gold spent/on-hand is the only thing that matters, but it's obvious why that's not a realistic option.
