So I've been having a great experience with team builder recently. No real hassle, get the role and hero that I want all is lovely. Then it spits out what is probably a bug - a team with 4 adcs all who claim they entered bottom lane adc into the thing. The lobby instantly started with no time for anyone to argue or drop out.
Game starts, we realize that we have 4 adcs. Kog, Jinx, Cait and Quinn. They instantly start flaming the hell out of each other claiming "I PUT IN BOTTOM LANE FIRST!!!!!! REPORTED!!!" etc etc They quad lane bot, take a 6 min tower or something no ones getting any CS. Poor Ez and Lulu have no idea whats going on. Yasuo is free farming an empty lane top, Kha has all the buffs to himself and I'm mid vs Kennen on Ziggs.
I do fine mid lane as the Kha ganks never come, he is too busy trying to hold the 2nd bot lane turret, Yasuo still farming. The quad crew take the 2nd and push to the 3rd turrets, exchanging kills, no one over 50cs at 10mins. The game continues like this, somehow they keep it together bot. Yasuo starts roaming and messing things up. I don't know if it was serendipity or just the soul of an adc but they all start suicidally split pushing, Kog takes both top turrets while we 4v5 mid. Cait gets the bot inhib turret. Kog dies alot top. Quinn and Jinx are stuck together at the hip but it doesn't matter because we destroy towers whereas I can delay the other teams push mid forever. Jinx has no idea how her ult works opening every teamfight with it. Kog takes top inhib. The other team falls apart. My team rips through baron in around 15 seconds without me. We win. Most bizarre game I've had.

Oh and I got a friendly honor despite having muted my entire team at 2 minutes.

Thanks. I guess I'm still left wondering why they took out Zekent if Saint was just going to immediately step down. I mean, he wasn't a playmaker, but anything is better than this random shuffling, right? If Zekent isn't shotcalling, tell him to step up and do so. Or tell IWD to do so? Hmm. I just feel like this has been handled really, really poorly.

Sorry ah as as registered Saint fanboy I'd never lie about it if it makes you feel better. Next time i'll link.
Curse did it's best when they kept a roster and didnt swap it so the team could actually learn to play as a team. It's fine to do these kinds of changes in the off season but right now? It's like they are trying to get kicked out of the LCS.

what about the last 3 years has led you to believe Liquid is a good team manager?

^ Started playing about ten months ago, so everything in the pro scene is new and unexpected.

Exactly. It's an almost XDG-level way of swapping and failing, except Sheep looks really strong so far and seems to have been the right decision. Hopefully the same proves true for Bunny.

tbh Liquid has done great things for the scene, he was the first manager that actually did shit, instal a rigid practice regime, regulate players diet and physical work out, not to mention and other things. Remember during last year allstars, liquid was coaching the team and every player was praising how good it was. Every player went back to the team and now this sort of training regime is the standard norm in lcs teams. Before him team practice were all over the place.
Now his decision are very questionable and borderline retarded, but denying his impact on the pro scene as a whole is not fair to him

being picked up by a huge gaming company curse, taking what was essentially an amateur team and slowly turning them into a top 6 team in NA, sponsorship deals with NISSAN and lo-jack (companies that are outside of the typical "gaming sponsor" realm), introducing several positive initiatives to help his players produce at a better level, brokering several trades and pickups to get top-tier or underrated players such as EDward (which then unlocked more potential in cop) and Quas and IWDominate, getting his players involved in the community (like the curse team helping at the local animal shelter), etc etc etc.
just because you disagree with a roster move that hasn't even had a chance to pan out yet (or even if you disagree with MANY roster moves that you don't think have panned out) doesn't mean that liquid isn't doing a good job as a manager.

to clarify my position when I look at Liquid in terms of player personnel and creating a winning team, I see a manager who was given carte blanche by Hubert at a time when a lot of other teams were still treating LoL esports as a hobby, and failing to really crack into the 'contender' side of the pro teams unless you want to count the spring split, which I will give him credit the spring Crs team was in hindsight probably legit top 3 if you played that season over again.
the way he handled the s4 pre-season and the way he handled this situation with Saint/Zekent while pretty dicy, aren't really even the core of the issue.

when it comes to being business smart in the league community there are very few people who has done / could do what Liquid has done. CLG managment isnt looking to good on that part, and while TSM was a little better they still have a bit to go.

Liquid's management was the only thing that ever let Curse be anything more than a second-tier team.
EDIT: Oh look, corroborated by the 2 TLers who actually know shit about the LCS team management.

the bar for NA team management is so fucking low.
like not basing the team lineup on your own ego or self-preservation, paying salaries instead of going broke and disappearing, and somehow actually getting your team a place to live with computers and stable internet automatically makes you a top tier NA manager.

It's nothing like CLG, TSM or Rock Solid/Dignitas that were pretty much always on top of NA and pretty much had free choice of whoever and whatever they wanted for their teams.
People joked about Curse being CLG's bench, but turning a team that was essentially the rejects from other teams into top 3 team even for one split is a big accomplishment, more so than always having been #1 and getting to cherry-pick your choice of talent because your brand name is such that players won't say no if you want them to play for you.

Maybe, but Liquid has still (As guitar pointed out) hooked in a variety of big sponsors and made sure his team is supposed to be in the big leagues, if anything citing self preservation and player motives isn't the thing you need to look at when you look at Liquids track record. Instead of thinking of him as a coach or team imagine Curse has a more Red Sox style management Hubert is the owner (John Henry) Liquid is the CEO of League (Larry Lucchino) overlapping a little on the General manager side of things. and Saint used to be the Manager/Coach (overlapping a little on the GM position as well)
Stating that Liquids management of Curse gaming (not just League remember) over the last 3 years is questionable citing player/roster changes is vague at best comparing it to what he has done for the Organization over all.

What's up with Gragas E not hitting things? I ulted someone into me and E'd at the same time and I went straight through them. I've noticed it on minions as well, where you go the full range of E even though the minions are right next to you.
