Seeing as I only played Hunter in WoW, I'll explain what caused me, ultimately, to quit playing.
In Cataclysm, the expansion before the current one, Hunter was pretty simple. You had enough abilities to use to not get completely bored and enough procs to make things interesting so you weren't just going on autopilot.
Then Pandaria happened. All of the sudden a bunch of abilities were added to the class that you had to use because they were DPS increases. Most of them were on very awkward cooldowns which made things a hassle to track and, quite honestly, a real bitch to keymap them all. Hunter now had the most difficult rotation in the entire game and was the worst DPS class by far. People were asking Blizzard to either remove some abilities to remove bloat and buff others to make up for the DPS loss, or to make some of the new awkward cooldowns passive based. People threatened to leave WoW.
Ghostcrawler's response was essentially "We don't want to change things mid expansion because numbers show people are more likely to leave if we did that than if we changed things."
It'd be like if Riot left Zed/Ahri/Fizz alone and said "But people like playing assassins."
Out of curiosity, was hunter harder than late-wotlk affliction lock, which was 4(5?) timers on the main boss, +1-2 per add(unless clumped, then you just SoC spam and pray you don't draw aggro while keeping track of timers on boss), and you could NEVER let corruption drop on the main boss or you lost like 20%DPS. Also no anti-clip/refresh on anything other than corruption. That was a lot of fun to play(for me at least), because you could top DPS charts in good gear if you did your rotation perfectly, or you could bottom tier if you fuckup.
I think ghostcrawler isn't too bad of an addition to the balance team though. Hopefully one of his goals will be to get more champions into viable status, which may or may not need corresponding nerfs to the strongest champs to occur. I'll wait to see what stuff he adds though.
I never played Warlock, let alone in Wrath, so I couldn't really say. It doesn't equate anyway, because even if a hunter did everything perfectly its damage still sucked ass.
Ghostcrawler in Wow was the guy they wheeled out infront of the mob to deliver the good and bad news and reasons behind them. Because of this he was turned into some mystical all seeing all balancing demigod game dev balancer who rained buffs and nerfs and class changes by his will alone.
Read: He was the only one talking about it so he got blamed for it. Always.
Ruined wow? No more then any of the other dev's on that team did. Also frell Hunter focus. Admittedly having said all that I am still deathly afraid at the idea of Ghostcrawler in my League balance. Having him as a 2nd pair of eyes keeping an eye on things will be good in theory. I am cautiously optimistic.

I was under the impression hunters were op as fuck right now lol.
Does anyone have anything concrete that Ghostcrawler ruined in wow?
Also, I know seasons start with a soft reset, but where are you getting the information that it's happening now?
If people think 1 person actually makes all the balance decisions for everything in WoW I cant express how clueless they are. All Ghost Crawler did was be the face of the entire team, He was out there responding and explaining to people why things happened despite all the shit it got him.
This is exactly it. I don't want him BECAUSE he's vocal. I'd rather blame the faceless void that is "Riot" rather than have to read through every discussion thread ever about how this game is now ruined because Ghostcrawler exists as a human
But what about morello. Who else is going to nerf irelia.

She's been indirectly nerfed by overall game changes for awhile now. From her heyday during resist stack meta to current evenish exp growth for solo and duos. S4 shafted her.

Blizzard and Riot share an almost identical balance philosophy. So I doubt much is going to change and if anything does change maybe it will be for the better.
And Ghostcrawler wasn't that bad. Except for his insistence that Paladins/Druids could spec DPS/Healer/Tank, and thus should be suboptimal in all 2/3 of those roles during TBC. That got sorted out though. Wow got bad because it was stale.

And they made an expansion on pandas. I mean, really?
EDIT: All Irelia needs to be balanced is to slap some %damage on her, ezpz
Unfortunately, Riot probably thinks that kind of thing is getting boring.

Well morello has made it no secret he is sick of dealing with champions like irelia. Maybe that's ghostcrawler's role, dedicated irelia balancer :>

Ghostcrawler is widely associated with all of the major systemic problems that occurred in WoW during mid-late WotLK. Specifically gear resets, mudflation, badge proliferation etc.

And the reason he is associated with them is because he is the talking point for the development team. He doesnt make every decision, hes just the one who has to tell the players about it. Stop pretending this one guy is satan incarnate.

That's why he said "associated" not "responsible for."
i can tell you the reverse...when they used to have the stupid new york game servers in EU west, my latency was 120 and every 20 mins rerouting with 5 sec DC.
