I was being serious.
Changes to Darius between his release (May 2012) and March 2013:
Hemorrhage: Bonus attack damage ratio reduced to 0.3 from 0.4. This is a legitimate nerf but it isn't "quite hard", most of the damage is in the base, early game this amounts to like 10-15 less damage in all in.
Apprehend: Pre-pull animation modified to be more readable for enemy champions. I don't remember how this changed. Don't think it was a big deal.
Noxian Guillotine: Cooldown now only refreshes when it deals the killing blow. Kind of a nerf but irrelevant for laning phase, it's easy enough to get the kill if you want it.
Noxian Guillotine: No longer refreshes upon killing champion clones (e.g. Shaco's Hallucinate. Pretty irrelevant.
Basically Darius had only very minor balance tweaks after release, nothing compared to Zed, Zyra, Thresh who have all had tons of changes / been super OP (Zyra was IMO the most overpowered release champ since I've been playing, i.e. since Leona).

nvm wasn't paying attention.
That doesn't really change the fact that release darius pretty much won every single lane early on barring jungle ganks. And the ult changes were actually a huge nerf. Before, if you died once to darius ulti, you'd die again and again unless jungler camped the darius for you. If the jungler didn't come top, 5 minutes later, if he comes up it's a double kill.
Also IMO Leona is probably one of the strongest one for all champs. Autowin post 6 against almost any squishy comp, ranged or otherwise, have lethal killing power against melees when there are two or more leona's, and the CC train never ends. You have extremely low CD initiation, huge burst, innate defensive steroids, teambased offensive steroid AoE.

IDK, I thought the ult reset in lane was a big deal because the instant you returned to lane he'd just instantly kill you again since he'd still have ult up.

I still find Thresh to be the most WTF champ in the game. He could literally lose an entire skill and still be insanely useful.

Zyra's definitely not the most OP release since Leona.

Naw, Thresh would be garbage without lantern. It's his lynchpin skill. best defensive ability in the game, best offensive ability in the game, highly useful scouting ability. He could afford to lose one of the other three spells though.

Disagree completely. Box + Hook + Flay + passive stats and harass are more than enough for a good champ.

;S Thresh is one of the worst examples for a champion that could afford to lose an entire skill.
Let's say Fiora and Riposte, for example.

Let's say Fiora and Riposte, for example. Without the AS debuff ez could live without his W (Though it's a very nice thing to have during pushes)

Let's say Fiora and Riposte, for example. You mean Fiora would be better off without ripose than Thresh without flay... or what?

I'm pretty sure Udyr wouldn't even notice if he lost either Tiger or Phoenix stance (but not both).

That's my point. All his skills are that good that he could lose one and still be a top pick.

I know one day Riot will rework both sion and poppy, but when that day comes I will cry tears of manly sadness as I watch Riot completely change the champ so that they're barely recognizable and then give them shitty new voices and looks.

Riot wanna talk toxic gameplay? Why is fiddlesticks still in the game? Why was he ever introduced?
|
maybe one day people will realise that all hard CC is anti fun/toxic. its not fun to lose control of your character.
