If it turns out that "traditional" supports turn out to be unviable after these changes, I will eat a sock if Riot doesn't just buff the "traditional" supports so they do become viable.
No, riot has to nerf everything.
All the AP mids going bot must suffer and feel the same pain supports have felt...

hahaha 2-1-2 lanes, neither team bothered to get both buffs. Imagine if the only role I play stopped existing, that would be lobstronomous
If Riot saw people abandoning jungle altogether, do you really think they wouldn't try to buff it up to make jungling more viable? Really Scip, sometimes I wonder...
It's pretty funny, they tried so hard in season 1 to try and make jungling optional, and now, 3 seasons later when it's no longer a part of their gameplay design goals, they finally succeeded.
EDIT: Or maybe it was a part of their goals the whole time.

Riot has a funny history of wanting something, and doing the exact opposite. eg. percent health dmg, sustain, etc etc.
Support going to be the favorite role now, it's like mid lane, without having to cs.

Yes. We Do. Because they are either current Talon/Yi/Fiora (bad) or Zed/Trynd (op/up at the same time!).

eh. Personally I think the melee ad carry label is a stupid classification. If you're an AD melee champ you either build and play like an assassin or you build/play like a bruiser.
Example: Master Yi can build glass cannon, but then he needs to play like an assassin. Go after isolated targets/ join fights after all the scary abilities have been blown and clean up w/ ult. Or you play like a bruiser and build slightly tankier.
Master Yi is a bad assassin. He is an ADC who is super snowbally. Like a Jinx who could only execute.
TL is skeptical about this champion because it is a Melle, Manaless, AD who is supposed to use Crit. There is almost no way to make him more difficult to balance. The closest thing is Tryndamere who is an ass in soloqueue, and bad in competitive. Depending, he could also be like Zed, who is terror in Competitive.

Honestly, if Riot doesn't immediately hit Relic/Targon's very soon, I'll eat a sock (ok not rly). It's just far too overtuned compared to other GP/10, and currently suffocating other starts (4 relic starts are going to be pretty damn common this patch). It should be viable still, but it's comparatively too far out of line.
Also, games are so flushed with gold compared to before. There will need to be tuning for this.
Also, Veigar support no longer troll, and Morg support is finally getting the respect it deserves.

Then season 4 they create like 20 gp items that give more gold than going philo/kage/hog would have ever given.
The main reason these GP/10 are better from a design standpoint in that there is conditionality for the majority of the gold gen, and there needs to be some active gameplay to it. You can't just sit on the items somewhere and rice gold. Basically from a design perspective, it's passive vs active gold generation, Spellthiefs in particular, and while Nomad's is passive its conditionality and stats (same with Kages) relegates it for supports alone.
Relic just stands out because more gold gen, free/easy last hits, and very relevant stats for EVERYONE (hp/hp regen), which is allowing basically every role besides mid to pick it up (top if jangler decides to take the 2-1-2 route).

Morg support didn't really deserve respect before, when you're only building boots, sightstone and oracles, she doesn't really do much once the laning phase ends. And she struggles a bit if she can't get an early chalice (I'm sure it's not required, but it does make her waaaay more annoying in lane). .... but ye she's pretty nice now http://www.lolking.net/summoner/na/23192784#history
