well obviously i'm excluding sophisticated and refined dota players who only post here to educate the masses about riots evil business practices. clearly a blizzard moba is going to be far too casual to appeal to gaming connoisseurs such as yourself.

I'm not. A lot of my other friends play both League and Dota2/Smite/Bloodline and freely admit being annoyed at adjusting to different game mechanics when they switch games after a week or so. I would watch it, but I'm not gonna play it.

WoT is literally cod. User was warned for this post

Blizzard referring to it as "the genre" and "hero brawler genre" every time they discussed it seemed super petty toward both dota and lol. I just don't like the way its looking to be.

Fun factor is gone. I'm playing hearthstone alot more. Season 4 plays and feels the exact same other than supports gettin big now. League is still about picking the OP FOTM champion til it gets nerfed than rince and repeat with another OP korean FOTM champ. I went from olaf/xin to jayce to zed to ahri and now to lucian/shyv/riven.... never ending. i dunno i just take a break if i get bored of the game and come back afte ra few weeks. or find friends and just troll the shit out of them, thats always fun

If you are going to be a professional gamer, you are going to be playing only one game. In my eyes, that makes them direct competitors. Seeing as how WoT has a foothold in esports (however big), it only makes sense to include it in their list. The genre of the game shouldn't matter. Just people have mentioned earlier, real sports don't care about making the distinction of genre when making their non-compete clauses. Basketball, football, hockey, etc. are all different genres but no one cares. They are all sports. Hence, Riot should have non-compete/stream clauses for all esports and not just genres of games because it doesn't truly matter. A game is a game and it will potentially take away from said viewer/player if allowed to do so. What Riot does may suck, but don't act like it makes no sense and that different games ever don't compete against one another. It makes perfect logical sense in any business.

Also, F2P games in general are nasty money-sinks, it's not like people spend $60 and that's the end of the story. Money people spend on GW2/WoW star horse/etc is money going to a competing computer bit baubles marketplace, and Riot obviously wants to edge them out as much as possible.

If you're ok with that fine. I'm not. If that's what it takes for E-sports to be considered a real sport, then I'd rather it stay where it is.

Riot is making these moves to make LoL more like traditional sports, but these aren't the changes that are going to make LoL accepted as a mainstream sport. I'm fine with eSports being its own thing in some aspects (much like Yango said). I guess I understand their logic, I just don't agree with it. Hearthstone isn't killing LoL :p Eh. I'm more excited that Riot is willing to try.
