I started this season and only made it to gold 2... but I don't really wanna play it like i used it. Fun factor is gone. I'm playing hearthstone alot more. Season 4 plays and feels the exact same other than supports gettin big now. League is still about picking the OP FOTM champion til it gets nerfed than rince and repeat with another OP korean FOTM champ. I went from olaf/xin to jayce to zed to ahri and now to lucian/shyv/riven.... never ending.

On a more serious note, however much I think Riot is in the right for this stance, their response is pretty shitty and doesn't fully address any actual concerns

Hype may have reached you via hundreds of thousands of LoL viewers that have been watching a hearthstone game every 30 minutes and telling others.

In fact, there are only maybe 1-2 games on the list that could be considered "Pepsi" to LoL's "Coke". Somewhat off-topic, but interesting: In the 1996 olympics, for which Coca-Cola was a sponsor, they had an exclusivity deal with NBC for Olympic advertising for all non-alcoholic beverages, including sports drinks and bottled water. This was in spite of the fact that in 1996, Coca-Cola didn't even have a bottled water brand yet.

In soloq you can play anything you want. How are you forced? There are tons of players who literally can only play 1 champion who isnt even popular and get to d1 if that is your goal.

I admit that I've been exposed to a lot of new games, such as Hearthstone, Diablo3 when pros were playing them.

Saying that a sizable number of league players would only be exposed to Hearthstone through their streamers is not the same thing as saying that Hearthstone drew most of its hype from League. You're placing undue importance on League within the gaming community at large. League's big, but it's not so big that the small subset of League players that watch streams religiously enough for repeated exposure to Hearthstone to be relevant outweighs every other avenue of hype for the game throughout the rest of the gaming community.

I personnaly totally understand Riot position there anyway. Yeah it sucks but it's business. They put so much money into LCS that they want to keep it under control. It still allows things like qtpie setting up a minecraft server for his subscribers, etc... It's not like they can't do anything else than LoL on their stream, and it applies only during the LCS seasons if i'm not mistaken.
