Imo this was one of the fears I had of a centralized western scene whem LCS was announced. I don't see what's wrong though. Basically what I get from the list is: - There's no restriction if you're non-LCS players. - If you are LCS players and stream your game under League of Legends twitch category, then don't play other games at the same time or right after the session.- LCS players still can play other games, as long as they label their stream appropriately in the right category. Very specific games. They can play anything not on the list (which is Blizzard games and MOBAs) Specific games or not is irrelevant, it's reasonable to expect them to target some popular games or same category games. It's not like players cannot play those games. They can still play those games if they want.

maybe some of the more curveball choices on the list is just to make it less obvious that its all an anti blizzard move. if the list just said D3 SC2 HotS then people would be a lot more outraged. its all part of the master plan

I think that's exactly the implication. The only problem with that line of thinking is that CSGO (and hell, every Valve game that's not DotA 2) is fair game, despite Valve probably being the company in most direct competition with Riot in this sphere.
until this week no one thought CS;GO was worth talking about i guess. dat dreamhack doe

Soo...if RIOT catches oh, say...Bjergsen streaming a game of Hearthstone they're going to ban him from the LCS? Yup, I can foresee that being a popular move, lol. Maybe you could remove say, Daydreaming and people won't care but, any of the players on a top team? LOL, I'm pretty sure the players have the power there. In fact if RIOT basically ever tried to enforce this, they'd probably just destroy their competitive scene in one fell swoop. What an absurdly dumb thing to put in.
There is no way this doesn't get retracted in less than like 12 hours. Impossible to enforce, hugely against the community will, etc
I predict a 'this was only a preliminary contract that was leaked and this provision was removed upon consulting with our LCS players and teams'

Riot is playing them to be professional LoL players. While they're streaming LoL, they are publically being professional LoL players, so Riot is paying them to do that and can dictate what they're allowed to do while they do it.
They also probably can't wear a Valve T shirt to LCS events, it's the same sort of thing. I honestly can't tell if you're being intentionally dumb or you just are that stupid. So riot is paying them to be professional lol players 24/7? you get that every other employment contract is only for the duration of work hours. Riot only pays them to play the games during tournaments and do interviews and other things like that. riot doesn't enforce practice hours, or anything else, so any non tournament time is the players own business. I honestly can't tell if you're being intentionally dumb or you just are that stupid. You get that employment contracts can easily stipulate what employees are allowed to do off-hours right? There's nothing against the law about that. For example, in software, it is pretty common to forbid employees to work for competitors, even off-hours.

This wouldn't even be a big deal if this was a requirement for ALL streamers to be listed as a "riot featured streamer" since that makes sense and controls their own image. but contractually preventing a player from doing that even as a non riot featured streamer leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Majority of pros make their money off team contract money, not Riot contract money.

Streamers product they market to viewers is THEMSELVES, their personality, antics. ect. people watch scarra stream for scarra, not to watch league of legends. they want to watch SCARRA. Stream numbers don't drop when streamers are playing whatever anime rhythm game of the month comes on in between queues. the viewers are there for the person, not the game. So streaming would be more analogous to a programmer being forbidden from doing stand up about programming in their free time.
