yeah you should try to get good at 1 or 2 champions If you try hard you'll be diamond well before you get good reach that goal just need a few back ups if you don't get the main 2 roles you want or that champ is picked/banned
easiest way to learn how other champs work is to look up all their skills in lolwiki and figure out their strengths weaknesses from those numbers+your experience. Playing them once or twice will help but not nearly as much as you think (it will just tell you playing an "op" champ isn't always as easy to carry as you think it is)

I don't think you need to give Emu the lecture on how to learn the game. He's been through this all before with a certain other game after all.

I have no idea who he is and having a big champ pool is just spreading shit all over the wall imo

I actually think I only ever bought ip boosts with the free rp they give you + some random 5 rp cards. I never wanted skins so those were pretty much the only thing I could buy.
still only ever bought champs. And filled out my my two rune pages with the bare minimum for a ap and ad page.
edit: I should disclaimer that I got into league after I knew I'd be going into the peace corps so being competitive was NOT a priority. I just wanted to play and own all the champs.

I think it's totally reasonable to want to have more champs to play just because you can't stand playing the same thing over and over again in a short time span. Especially given that Emulator is coming from DotA where it's pretty normal to random every game, or to go 300+ games without ever playing any one hero more than 10 times.

well if you wanna goof around sure but most people go ranked and get nervous and make plans and tryhard and shit they think of champ pools as something professional and having a array of "tools" at your disposal
its more like having different lengths of sticks instead of making 1 decent spear
the people who get bored playing the same champs are usually the same people who are stuck at the same elo because getting bored has a lot to do with not thinking and learning new things and playing a new champ forces you to learn new things and experiment while doing it with a champ you play a lot requires deeper thought and a lot of questioning of your tried and true methods

Somehow enjoying playing different heroes became a negative reflection on one's character, depth of thought about the game and willingness to improve?
Like I get that role rigidity and "main"-ing particular champs is thoroughly ingrained into the player culture for LoL, but really?

Hahaha just found this threat and have a question: Why is it blacklisted to ask what a tank is? XD I have to explain this every time when I teach someone the basics of LOL...

No idea who he is, but you gotta remember that one's answer shouldn't just apply to the person you're responding too. Maybe other people found the advice helpful.

Shame on you, comparing DotA to LoL! I wouldn't know whether it's common or not to spam champions in DotA but in LoL it's very normal (hell even mandatory imo), so you see, my advice was actually pretty legit.

Because we had the discussion over and over and over and people couldn't agree to a definition, so it was decided to blacklist it over having to deal with it periodically. I think we're more reasonable regarding this nowadays though (some would say that we simply produce less actual discussion content too).

Ok that sounds like sense^^
on topic: As Ahri is my main char I don´t really like this patch, but reading through these changes I saw something I don´t understand. I mostly play unranked and just for fun so I don´t have any ideas of any pro builds. What do they mean with "all-in" in LOL? Is this a playstyle, an itembuild or is it because her Q and E are skill shots??
+ Show Spoiler +Make Ahri’s default lane patterns more clear, so both Ahri and her opponents can make plays around them
Make Ahri’s “all-in” gameplay more closely tied with landing Charm to establish Charm as Ahri’s “kiss of death” that needs to be avoided, as well as lower her threat/presence while Charm is on cooldown
Keep Ahri’s core gameplay intact while trimming away strength from the low-gameplay patterns that don’t feel rewarding
|
All-in means using everything you got, hitting everything. For ahri an ideal all-in combo would be E -> Q -> ignite and W -> R
The reason they changed around on her abilities is to make it more rewarding for skilled players to hit their charm. Previously you could really go in with R, W and Q and just derp around and still get kills. Now you NEED to land the charm in order to all-in.
|
The charm change makes it so ahri can't foxfire => spirit rush => dfg and kill someone as easily without landing charm.
She's using all of her abilities with dfg and possibly ignite. Depending on the map location Ahri also gives up mobility from spirit rush being on cd or putting her near an enemy tower.

And look at him now, winning Defense 3. What a boss.

i'[ve been wondering for a bit and haven't seen it discussed really...what is the absolute worst skill in the game? skarner e?
|
Ranked games is up for SEA server and now its is possible to drop tiers? no more Tier V troll?
|
Skarner's E isn't a terrible skill. It's just that levels in W and Q are so important and his mana restrictions hurt him big time.
What other champs completely skip an ability though? Ezreal W and Sona E?
