elise's damage is relevant even when built with 0 damage because her base damages are nuts she's half manaless she's able to gank at level 3 high sustain/tankiness can go untargetable (!!!) whereas diana has mana issues in the jungle has no actual sustain her only CC is on an extremely high cooldown base damages aren't high | ||

I got dumped on in mid by Diana but I suck at Ori so eh. <3 Since the Xerath thread is dead, I ask here. What do you guys think of getting Grail->Liandry's on Xerath? With his poking power, you could easily whittle down people, which Liandry's generally helps with by reapplying the DoT. If you get into a siege war or extended lane phase, his WQs with a Liandry's could make someone's health bar disappear pretty fast, especially considering it's decent base power even without big AP items. Or do you think Grail -> DC is superior most of the time? | ||

Been trying to pick her up, but I mostly play ranked and I didn't play much at all this past few weeks. Still enjoyed her a lot when I did, but my lane opponents prob were too lenient with the harass so I reached 6 w/o too much of a problem and she gets so oppressive after that. ôo Her damage is strong and the lack of "real" ult cd makes her trades scary for anyone who can't 100-0 her it seems. Also roaming super good if you can reliably clear fast: gap closer, cc, average burst but good dps, and you can do it more often than every 2 minutes. She dumps on Talon and Viktor has a hard time handling her, from my experience (as in he'd get wrecked if he wasn't so efficient at nuking the wave, although he'll need blue). | ||

She's still quite fine. Just not as 100% faceroll as she used to be, and so people stopped playing her (and started playing faceroll ahri/zed/fizz). She honestly does fine in those matchups too because her core build is tanky AP anyway. | ||

How'd THAT go? diana is my most played since i moved to mid (and subsequently, moved up ~5 divisions) she's a relatively strong champion against some of the more annoying mid assassins like zed and fizz (don't take that as "she's a counter" though, pls), as well as being utterly dominant against other, less-seen champs (tf, karthus, nidalee), and breaks even against a lot of popular champs (ahri, lissandra, kassadin etc). she does have some bad lanes that are also really popular at the moment (ori, gragas) mathematically, she's got what i believe is the highest burst in the game at level 6 (unfortunately i'm still on vacation and i don't have access to my notes so i can't verify that but i'm 99% sure this was my conclusion), if you start your combo with 2 auto attacks on creeps to charge your passive. you'll hit QWR, use your charged auto, then R again for ... was it a 3.1 AP ratio or something silly like that, on top of really high base damages? up to gold ii, i've had virtually no trouble with this combo whatsoever, so take that for what it's worth. her burst is *so* high that you can often delay AP items in lieu of tank items for several buys and still do massive damage. it's not uncommon for my first buys to be 1-2 d-ring, negatron, and 2 cloth armors for seekers before i even touch pure AP items like void or DC or lichbane. the only problem with mid diana is that her entire kit is based on landing your Q. if you miss it, your burst is effectively halved, and often you want to R as you Q... so if you miss you're already committed a lot of the time. so don't miss your Q! lategame she's *probably* the best melee mage, because she has 4 nukes and 2 shields that all have AP ratios (Q, R, R, charged auto; W, W) so she's amazing with a full build. diana from the jungle is not really worth playing, imo. AP carry champs don't synergize well with the jungle role (the aforementioned lategame power with 6 items works the other way too... she's awfully weak with only 1-2 items lategame which is all she can afford on jungle salary). not to say that you can't win with jungle diana, i do it from time to time, but there are just way better options. i know that she's one of frommaplestreet's best mids, he picks her into zed 100% of the time. pr0lly is also a huge diana fan and i believe scarra plays her. /slinks back to the couch to play more pokemon | ||
