From my experience lvl 1 is good enough to always have at least 1 seed when you need it <but most of the time i have 2 anyway, 1 slowplant and 1 ranged plant. So I take the additional base dmg I get from skilling Q and E. | ||

He's also kinda meh in 2v1s because of his short range and he's not great for pushing towers. Nonsense, Graves is great for pushing towers in a 2v1 situation. Lots of waveclear/push, and AS buff through E. Now, straight pushing turrets in a 5v5 situation is another question entirely. | ||

I think your hyperbole is overkill in this case. Alistar is a step below popular junglers at the moment, but it's not a very large step. One patch buffing Alistar or nerfing his competition could easily make him competitive (as opposed to viable). In general people tend overestimate the difference between what's currently first pick/ban material and what isn't. | ||

I just look at the simplistic scenario of "what would be different if I had alistar over j4?" Sure, Alistar ganks are about on par with his ganks, maybe a bit better if you blow everything to try and get the kill. Plus if you can somehow get a flash>pulverize>headbutt on a carry or a high valued target, then Alistar is amazing, but I'm simply more afraid of a j4 engaging on me, because he can kill me almost by himself while building full tank, something cow really cannot do. Same goes for Vi really, somewhat for Zac too. | ||
