His strength is that his aoe is massive and it scales really well, it's just so unreliable that they've never really been able to get it to a good place balance wise. You do not pick him for the ult, even without qss around its just not that amazing a skill. people just fixate on it because it's flashy, it's his iconic skill, but you could just replace it with any number of generic ults like an ap version of lucian's, or veigar's, and he'd probably be better in teamfights. | ||

In the same regard a lot of the popular mids become impossible to gank at 6. So you're playing a lane that cannot be ganked for and is fairly easy to gank because of his pushing nature. His ult is better used to peel for your ADC than to ult carries, because you have to put yourself in a bad position to ult good targets. | ||

Even with W level 1 his sustain beats Vlad's till later, beats Irelia's with Hiten Style active till it's level 3 or something... And it has no cooldown. And then you add his passive. Of course you can gank him. But if he gets a 1 for 1 thanks to his passive you're fucked. And he can dodge ganks with Q. Oh, and his E is also a strong ranked nuke and pushing/harass tool. How the fuck are you supposed to lane vs him unless you're able to just shove the wave whenever you like, or are ranged? | ||

You get this delusional idea of how things are meant to be. I started out playing support, because i was forced to do it. I did play other roles, but i was always inferior in those roles and just stuck to support because "i was good at it". Later on i actually started to enjoy it, and now i can proudly say i have 3 champs in every role that i can play at a top level, something i know other diamond players still struggle at. I personally believe it's because i started out with just that one role and it gave so much influence on my game-play that later on it wasn't that hard to learn ADC, mid etc. | ||

Do a good(great) trade, and then position yourself so you can punish every creep he touches. He can CS with his E, but that's just more HP in your favor. Save resources when he's below 50% so you can burst him to zero with ignite. And IMO his passive is retarded. Absolutely no reason he needs to be invulnerable for the duration. Should be takes reduced damage at best, because free GA is dumb. | ||
