I agree with me_tolkien though, no melee can out trade him apart from maybe riven but even that is close. Darius has kill potential against all melees at all levels if they missplay

Kennen's auto is slightly longer, but it's possible to be moving forward while he's in auto animation and maybe grab him. The thing is, if you already have a mark from autos (or two from him pressing W) on you, you'll probably get stunned by lightning rush (he's on top of you because you grabbed him) -> W as he backs off and eat a lot of harass. Grabbing kennen just doesn't work very well, especially since his escape is WAY shorter of a CD than grab.

I always jump right at him lvl1 as Riven, Udyr should destroy him equally easy pre6, and post6 Jax and possibly Tryndamere ought to have the edge if properly specced/itemized.

So i was thinking about buying a toplaner but i already have a ton of top laners that i just never learnt to play properly that are completely viable but i dont own enough mids, especially assassins. (My mid pool consists of Morg, Lux + Ahri / cassio if i have to.)
I was looking at Talon, who is viable for both mid and top or is there a better option for assassin i know talon doesnt really qualify as one I mean there is Zed, but he just seems meh. Doesnt really need to be a top laner too so i guess i can take my pick of assassins.
What should i buy to learn how to play assassins + they are a solid pick?

I've had success against some overconfident Darius as Xin. At lvl 2-5 there's a window where you can actually out duel him. Plus W gives you some good sustain later on. Have to stack HP against his ult though. I built Cutlass/Botrk into a giant's belt item or two.

Like I said I'm still working my way through gold so take my opinions with a grain of salt. I am well aware that a lot of the lanes / match ups that I am playing are just me monopolising on the mistakes of the person I play against. I do not think that Darius would be good in competitive level due to his trash 1v2 and and high elo he is definitely not a safe early pick!
I'm in queue now with Darius so I am sure to end my streak now!

Wut. Talon is an assassin. His 1v1 isn't good enough against tanky champs to be a splitpusher, Rake's cd is too long and its range too short for him to be a poker like Kha'Zix used to be, and the way his E and W work only his ult is a reliable AoE in a teamfight so he's not an AoE nuker either.
He also doesn't have the escapes or defensive options to be a diver, Talon's job is straight-up to flank a threatening enemy squishy and burst him down before he can contribute too much to the fight, then back off for a good 10s until he can pretend to be relevant again.
As for Darius we've got a Darius thread already, but Smash doesn't have the time to come here and update it anymore so...
People shouldn't underestimate his passive at early levels, this shit hurts like hell and since you'd want to itemise armour and HP to survive his all-in it's not like you'll build MR to reduce its damage.

Getting health back over armor is nice, but the new passive is still inferior to Icy imo.

Anyone willing to pay $67 for super duper top secrets on a game to "get better" deserves to have that money taken from them. If your below diamond - You're not going to improve tenfold reading some expensive tips you wont find on other free websites. If your above diamond - you probably already know it all and the only thing thats going to benefit you for that money is coaching from some tip-top challenger.
Also - Just buy RP and get those hax skins like steel legion lux. Much better ratio of money-to-win imo

Steel Legion Lux's projectiles are harder to see than the other skins, esp her binding. I'm not sure what the other ones are though - i remember hearing that the legendary vlad skin has a better AA animation so it's easier to last hit, but that doesn't seem exactly gamebreaking.
edit: iBlitz being another one, his hook looks like it materializes from the aether and then you are grabbed and dead.

You can barely see their animations / the animations are so borked you see them later then others or assume they're hitboxes are different.
Both situations give you a shorter (miniscule) time to react if your not eagle eye 20/20 topgun pilot at all times
