And since you're often a squishy, his W is a threat whenever you come close (compared to top) so even zoning him out outpoking him is rather hard. That's a different kind of boring from long range clearers like Anivia, TF or Lux, but it's boring as hell nonetheless.

In terms of how few options there are for rune setups, how drastically would things have to change before we more variety? I think it could be interesting if there existed runes that couldn't be easily price benchmarked and then accordingly min/maxed. For example, what about Sight Range reds, %Interest yellows, Projectile Speed blues, and Inventory Slot quints? These could also be implemented as masteries, but I think there's so much more potential for runes than invisible bonus starting items.

That's when you bait his W out forcing him to blow flash when your jungler ganks at the same time so he's scared of using clone aggressively on you again. When people say things are boring mid I always assume they just take the easy way out and farm instead of actually trying to do anything.

But I might be mistaken, I didn't follow these at all.

So you're saying people should worry about the number they can't see, instead of the number they do see? That's not happening. It may be just an arbitrary representation, but it's the only thing we can see, therefore the only thing many people can care about, to whatever degree. No matter what your elo is, being in diamond 1 would probably feel pretty good.

It's also how you aim Viktor's laser and Rumble's ult with Smartcasting.

When people say things are boring mid I always assume they just take the easy way out and farm instead of actually trying to do anything. I actually call these lanes "boring" because even when trying it's hard to make stuff happen (well it'd obviously be different if I played Ahri/Fizz instead of Viktor/Ori), for example Viktor tends to outtrade Lux at short range but loses to her full burst combo (if she roots him, her auto range is barely more than his Q range so you can't reduce her damage with a shield), so you use Q-auto to harass her aggressively at early levels when you're more mana efficient than her with lower cooldowns. However, as soon as she gets a blue buff or chalice, and later some AP, she can start farming from max range and there's little you can do to punish her, unless you yourself get a blue buff so you can sustain using E on the wave to counter her pushing, then to poke her between waves before you can all-in. Regarding Zed, maybe that's because my jungler never came, then (can't blame him on that one particular game, top was being easy to snowball, and I tend to see enemy junglers more than mine though it doesn't bother me). I see the variety it brings and the dynamic it creates for junglers routes, match-ups, etc., however as the laner having to deal with it it's still kinda boring since I dislike having to rely on my jungler to be able to do something else than "farm" and "defend against his all-ins". Oh crap people just made me play AD. I would already play like shit at Silver I level, what's it gonna be at Gold III. XD

Madlife runs the 1-1-1, since we're taling about SC2. One HP, one AD, one movespeed if I remember correctly (I do more or less the same, except I use a gp5 instead of AD) ;P
