You get EXACTLY the same league placement and LP after a brief time whether you dodge or not and whether those dodges occurred in a promo or not. You have to deliberately disjoint the two, it's a pain in the ass and even then it doesn't stick for long. You can ditch your promo series all you want, it'll just mean you'll be continually in promos until you pass through. This is not always true. I got on a large win streak in Gold I and barely promoted into Plat V, immediately after I went on a large loss streak to cancel out the previous streak. Now my mmr is firmly in mid gold but I'm in Plat. I might easily not have been promoted if I dodged a game. mmr at any give time is not a perfect indicator of present skill, so get off your high horse.

MLG has to pay Blizzard to host SC2 at their event. Riot pays MLG to host LoL at their event.

Because so many people get away with being such dicks because often some one else dodges, no penalty to them, time or otherwise. Or after the 20-60 mins people figure its noth worth reporting or whatever. I wish lol had some mechanism for dealing with the pregame BS. There's nothing you can do yourself, but Riot monitors players who have abnormal rates of team mates dodging their games; They banned a number of people when they started this (with announcement etc.) No idea if it is still going.

I loved it at the beginning, but Blizzard inability to change any of the toxic gameplay patterns in the game killed it. There's a reason why LoL is way more popular than SC2 in Korea, even though SC2 got way more communication and marketing.

In NA/EU? League would have gotten where it is anyway. Quite frankly, anywhere outside of Korea, League wasn't taking that much away from SC2, given how big League is now regardless. Requizen said it before, and I think this was a rather keen realization--what League really came in at the right time for was the explosive growth of streaming as a media platform for games. It came in at the right time and found and audience on Own3d/Twitch that really did a lot to expand the player base and build that unique streaming subculture that no other game yet has been able to duplicate. The only place where this is questionable is in Korea, where League probably did jump in to fill the BW gap.

I really speak of terrible gameplay patterns. 2 out of 3 races have instant spells that forbid all micro : force field and fungal growth. I don't wanna turn this into an SC2 bashing and will stop there, but honestly, the game had it's run, a pretty long one given the quality of the game, so it's not sad by any means. It stayed at one of the most popular e-sport for 3 years, that's already a pretty good feat.
