1) The intended role, high damage non-fighter ad with a desire for utility and sustain but no immediate need for durability, has become niche to start with, so when the item gives up use % the inclination is to perceive it as pointless. 2) The item's direct competition, primarily spirit stone items and botrk/cutlass are among the strongest options in the game. 3) The utility portion also has significant redundancy with sight stones all over the place, especially since the 90 second ward active is relatively terrible. I can't stress enough how much it sucks having to micromanage your miniward. It's just not fun feeling burdened by it. 4) Vamp scepter is such a late buy that it's possible heroes that really need it simply aren't jungling. unless you think it better to stick with the base machete (which seems to bring the role of razors into question) counting potions and with no wards you can expect your first 1700 gold to include zero lifesteal. 5) No late game buildup, although as a lifesteal item it does have built in scaling. The slot efficiency was recently increased but this really only seems to highlight how much more significant 'real' major items like botrk are comparison. 6) Item is desperately understatted for a 2k gold buy, and the utility is nowhere near as impressive as the deficit seems to imply. 7) Lack of strong melee carry itemization that doesn't use a vamp scepter. What does buying wriggles lead into? Triforce, ghostblade? These are not tier one options. Currently wriggles has to be good enough to persuade you to buy a bad item next. | ||
