Does anyone care to lend their voice to this theory? Mind if I ramble about some more vi junlge theory? When I vi jungle im pretty cool with starting purple side. starting w means you're not going to have any mana problems if you start red so bottom can help you. I like to get a smiteless leash bottom no matter which side i start on. (unless i need blue) I like to run strait to my other buff then go for a quick lvl 3 gank. when you have w two charges of e and smite the blue buff practically evaporates. which makes me wonder if i started dblade, at this time, would i have enough health to gank? becuase if so then starting dblade is undenyably better up untill this point in the game. but vi isnt exactly tanky so typically ive drank a pot or 2 at this point. and a dblade start would mean killing the camps takes a bit shorter? (10% of ~65 < 10) and ive lost a bit less health. but that level three vs lvl 1/2 dash from the bush into their face feels sooooo goooood and i bet it would feel better with a dblade. but then its back to clearing camps, (which i would honestly love a race of fastest clears and i would cheer for vi (not first clear but like lvl5 clear)) which would be easyer with pots. what would you buy after a dblade start? If you do start dagger what are pros and cons of lizard and golem? ive done both and i kinda like golem for the shoe oportunities it presents (zerker greives on vi sometimes lol) if i am going to get a bc for damage anyway. also if you dont get merc treds ive been thinking about wits end if you have a good source of magic damage to soften them up for and you love the attack speeeeeed. I really like vi and i want to play her more. I went through a phase with her where i would just buy the machete to start then sell it later not making it into anything. so sad.  please talk to me about vi. | ||

Also Golem spirit isn't bad for a tanky build, while Lizard spirit is somewhat cheap AD and more dps through the burn. Though I'm a big sucker for CDR in general and since I max Q first I like to have quick 10-20% CDR (I build Locket after boots so I can dive more easily at level 6+) to lower the cd to around 6s at level 9 for strong skirmishing, so I'm biased. She definitely can jungle off of Machete only, or even without it. | ||

She definitely can jungle off of Machete only, or even without it. yeah i agree that i can burn through her mana really fast and like the spirit stone for mana regen... i guess the only benifit to a dblade start would be a harder first gank but if you dont get the kill then its probably not worth it. whoa you max q first thats pretty crazy i didnt know anyone didnt max e first. whats your reasoning behind this? I mean i guess i usually get golem instead of lizard since the nerf becuase the cd tenacity and health just let you get w.e. you want for your damage item and boots. but i have a feeling that if im getting golem im supposed to be going tank build and it just feels.... fail at tank and damage. i mean i do go golem aiges and locket but its less fun to be a tank when you can dash and dunk instead. | ||

(14 too long to wait while jungling TT) does q max do more dmg through a whole combo than e max? i guess it is a function of how much ad you are building but i can see that e does not give very much per level hmm... | ||

Q with a lower CD means faster escapes/wall-jumps when I want to skirmish, invade, or just gank over walls (the way J4 does it bot going from purple side to river bush w/o being seen from the river for example: charged Q goes far enough to allow it), and if people blow flashes or dashes it's way easier to chase them down. Plus it has very good base damage (340 at level 5 once charged, it's on the higher end for AoE with bonus AD ratio), so as long as I can hit it the burst when ganking is higher than when maxing E (you basically need to hit 2 Es to match the minimal damage increase per level compared to Q, which isn't always easy against flashes and slippery targets). Based on this, even though Q's mana cost raises with levels the damage/mana ratio stays in max Q's favour (Qmax Q+E is around the same amount of damage as Emax Q+E+E, which is more mana). I've been doing it since release, tried a bit of E max when I saw everyone else do it but after a few weeks/months most people I've seen do some kind of "at least 3 points in Q early, then either max it or directly mix W and E". Xj9 probably helped popularising it when he moved from E max to Q max a bit after his viewership exploded. (For the record I max W second but it's because I like the burst potential and dps increase from having it maxed in the midgame, never did the maths, I just never feel constricted by E's cooldown because of the 20%+ CDR builds I use. Scip even uses CDR glyphs so he can tell you how he feels regarding her cooldowns.) | ||
