How does one best manipulate a minion wave to make sure it will push against the enemy lane as a big clump?
For example, lets say we're in the mid game. Enemy bot lane tier 1 tower is down and there's a lot of posturing going on mid and top. I want to go down to bot lane, clear out minions real fast, and then go back to the posturing with the knowledge that if the enemy team doesn't do anything about it, our minions will push on their tier 2 tower in bot.
What's the best way to do that? Do you just kill as many minions as you can as fast as you can, or is there some trick to ensuring that your minions will clump up and push as an oversized wave? Freeze lane until the siege unit comes. Just don't autoattack the minion, try to last hit as late as possible even if you have the ability to 1,2shot a minion. ??? That's not what I heard at all. From what I hear the pro teams in Asia have something called "the slow push" where they kill one - two waves of ranged creeps (or melee creeps) I forget which one but leave the others up when the lane is pushing against them in a long lane. This way their reinforcements take awhile to reach you but yours build up trying to kill the melee line. This causes your ranged creeps to "double up" on a wave which starts snowballing the wave super hard.
Assume a Fresh Lane:
It is 6 on 6. If you kill all 3 Ranged minions their minions will have no DPS, but ample tankiness. That will get the lane snowballing fairly well. Depending on how fast you want the push to start, etc you kill a certain amount. You could possibly also leave more if you want the push to start later, or take more for faster.
The same idea applies for unfresh lanes. Ideally you just want your wave to be slightly stronger than the other side's wave, basically the opposite of freezing.

Mafia always looked a little bit too much like people pretending they are beating the math by trying to read people but only end up playing worse as a result. Not that I understand it much but that's what I got from watching 10 minutes of Neal streaming it. I don't have the ad at the top which makes this site look weirdly squished I can filter out people I don't like but the filter button makes every post bigger so that throws me off even more LOL
Also there was this post that linked a 3 minute video of Naniwa dancing only in his pink underpants to some really really sweet ass pop music, so that was pretty cute :3
LOOL that picture Requizen Mafia on this forum ends up really interesting. A LOT of people play based on meta, which is essentially useless because when people know other people play by meta, then they alter their own playstyle. Ends up being a huge cluster of WIFOM, but it's a lot of fun. Wish I had more time to participate in it. Isn't mafia like just some card game? Wtf is this forum based mafia nonsense? It's only a "card game" in that cards are traditionally used to assign roles. The rest is discussion, guile, and sneakiness. I'd play if i had more time. Or, you know, friends.

I feel like Mafia would definitely be something I'd enjoy but I've never played it.

Yeah I can't comment on how it is on forums but it's really fun with a group of friends. Ideally you need like 10+ people but can do it with smaller groups.

I think bare minimum to have a proper game is like 8. You can modify the rules some to maybe do 6 people but it'd be kind of lame. You want a fairly large group to play it with.

Recommending a mafia forum outside of teamliquid's? What is this blasphemy?!

There's no way I have time to play Mafia online due to preexisting priorities. Obviously playing it RL at a LAN event would be most ideal but somehow I've missed all the TL opportunities. gg me. -o-
