Before this patch you could afford a smiteless leash by sharing wolf exp, but now you'll miss out on exp. If you're on the receiving end of being down a level in some matchups you have to stay really really far back to avoid dying or losing 60+% of your hp, miss out on cs and possibly exp, and hit level 2 up to 20+ seconds after the other guy. It can really set you behind, especially if it's a matchup you need to keep wave pushed to avoid harass at your tower. By the way, bot still can do golems and miss only ~2 cs, so that problem isn't fixed at all. But most don't know that yet so starting red buff on blue side is generally safe. | ||

It just creates alot of opportunities for ganks in the solo lanes, because they are lvl 3 at the moment people will ding lvl 2. Idk, you could probably start blue, but i have yet to see someone actually do it, because people just prefer that route (talking at least 90% of all the junglers i see). | ||

Guess your mmr is a lot higher(mine is garbage to be honest lol) because I am in same league but junglers start blue really often.The golems pressure bot really hard though.When you take them it's really easy to abuse the extra xp and win lane just because of it.I know it's pretty selfish no need to tell me ;D.If a jungler asks nicely for a smiteless red I'll help but generally they just let me get golems. | ||

Not to mention if they push you won't lose any creeps as well. | ||

Trying to bypass the ward AND negate the ranged gap in bot lane and exhaust+cc that supports have turns into a very low level 3 kill rate bot lane, compared to ganking top. | ||

In my opinion, "positioning" is extremely hard to define since it encompasses so much. | ||
