I think that qualifies me as the best ssb64 player on this board. lol, hitting Isai once is honestly an accomplishment in 64, gratz dude! Modern tier lists put him at like 6-7th, lol. Poor dude looks so damn cool when no one knows what they're doing but now that people don't shield and are harder to hit, he kinda just blows. That down aerial is completely fucking broken, impossible to return to stage against Kirby even at like 10% and Kirby kills off just about any hit because his drill combos are so powerful and all his skills combo into everything.
Pikachu is probably as good but at least takes some skill. Pikachu is much better than Kirby. Having a real recovery in that game is OP. Fox is also considered better than Kirby nowadays but it's a lot closer and most of that comparison boils down to matchups where Fox's better matchup vs. Pikachu counts for a ton.
Mogwai knows what he's talking about!
I'm on the Fox > Kirby boat, but yeah, it's quite close.
I never understood where the ~1 year period where everyone thought Ness was #1 came from, I always thought he was quite garbage. Well, not garbage, but just having a decent grab game isn't enough to put him above like...half the characters in the game who are better than him.
I should play some SSB64 again it was so fun @_@
When I played vs. Isai I was pretty much shitting myself lol. So much fanboying going on while I was getting owned xD

Sorry to sound jaded on it, but I just don't think there's a happy ending in this for the competitive SSB scene. You sound pretty jaded in general (no offense meant, just a thought), which makes your stream all the more enjoyable because we can feel your guenine fun while doing random stuff like Nunu top and there's a pretty big contrast there.

I'm also god-tier at Jigglypuff and Ness
[edit] Just saw the Smash challenge too--He'd crush me in melee but I'm 100% confident in my 64 skills. I'm not saying I could 7 stock any of the top players or anything but I know where I'm at in relation to them and it's pretty damn close. [/edit]

It's really hard not to feel jaded when talking about anything related to Nintendo these days. But maybe a lot of people who share that sentiment are just "growing up" or something.

I will freely admit that I am trash-tier at all 64 and Melle characters except Marth. Let the hate flow.

I was always a bowser kind of guy. I'd use charge moves to mindfuck people and then jump down attack or charge up attack when they jumped in on me.
I was pretty good in the circle of people I played with but I have no doubts I was shit.

I played Isai a few times since I lived relatively close to a bunch of the local Smash meetups. I took a few stocks off of him over the course of two years or so, but he probably took 15 games off of me for every stock I got from him. When he got bored he would just pick random
It definitely helped that I netplayed Moogle for a billion hours though. Isai, Boom, and Moogle are still just so far ahead of everyone else in that game it's ridiculous.

9 victories in my last 12 ranked games played with tiamat/hydra rengar, from multiple positions, jungle primarily, then a couple top and support games
ad/ad/armor/mr (but could probably be ad/ad/armor/cdr tbh) 9/21/0, machete + 5 or cloth + 5 in lane. top lane max E, in jungle max Q, as support max Q
the core item is hydra, after that mass kindlegems and turn them into other shit. golem/visage/locket. bonetooth optional but i get it frequently.
hydra with Q maxed and 40% cdr makes him a splitpushing monster, even more than he already is. QhydraW clears a wave, QQ to take towers, charge Q -> ult -> QQEWhydraQ instagib any squishy in teamfights. when jungling, hang around your mid and countergank when your mid gets ganked. with the listed setup your level 1-4 are nigh unbeatable. but you kill creeps slowly so it's imperative that you fight early and often. as support just use your Q on creeps until you get to 5, then jump in the brush and QQ the enemy adc down, w as you walk away to negate harass a bit. free kills all day, then roam at 6.
enjoy your free wins, must use headhunter rengar skin or you're doing it wrong

I like SSBB better than Melee.
Mostly because I only played Melee twice and didn't own a non-handheld Nintendo console between NES and Wii.

I am really, really, really sick of Khazix and Zed.
Nobody should be able to waveclear that well.
Not to mention as far as I can tell the Khazix changes on pbe are a buff.

|
No the problem is also that they have just about the best waveclear of any champions in the game.
Other mid lanes need to have like a deathcap and level 9+ to clear as good as they do at 6 with nothing.
Does Khaz's evolved void spikes currently proc the unseen threat damage on minions? Is that why he can one shot the wave so easily?
If so, then I guess the change is a nerf. Which would be nice!
|
Yeah once his passive doesn't proc on minions (or on W? I don't remember the change) he won't be able to insta-clear but he'll still clear just as fast or faster than most mids lol.
