I'm not trying to defend EU but it was very likely for them to play NA in the real tounament matches and almost imposible to have to play SEA so they probably didn't want to reveal anything more to the american team. According to Dyrus, EU didn't say a single word, and just left to scrim SEA with no notice to NA.

Right when I started watching competitive League, I asked if anybody can beat Koreans (post MLG Summer Arena with Azubu+Repeared), my friend said "M5 is the best, but all 5 of them are so fucking BM".
For some reason, part of me thinks all of GG besides Alex Ich are dicks. Idk why tho.

Does anyone have information on Soaz by the way? Probably played the worst of anyone in the tournament. Dyrus even made him look like a small child.

The current Gambit have nothing to do with the old one (they were so lame back when they were still M5, all of them including Alexich). Also America have an history of hyping themselves and always building up drama - that TSM vs M5 hype back in the day, seriously. I'm not implying that all regions don't do it by the way.

Those 1v1's were totally serious business.

That is what made it all more puzzling? (I didnt watch any of the 1v1s really, but I did see the result).
Like, Shy's back was huge against China, and PDD was great vs. USA and SEA. Soaz was bad in all 4 games.

It's a team game. sOaz was outpicked, outplayed, EU's team coordination was shit, etc. It's not sOaz problem imo, more of a shit performance coming from the entire team. Also, I'm pretty sure you didn't watch the same game as me because vs NA, sOaz and Alexich were the only reason the game even lasted more than 30 min (him and alexich killing all NA at some point).
Alexich vs Korea was invisible, Edward had almost no impact on any game (if you take it into perspective with what we know of him in LCS EU). The only one who played kinda solid is Diamond I guess ?

if you have your lantern out as thresh, and then you recall or teleport, could you take someone with you if they timed picking the lantern up at the right time?

I felt like Edward was the only one who played well really.
I agree it wasn't a Soaz problem, but when you looked at how a lot of Toplaners on other teams seemed to really show some powerplays this weekend, it was disappointing .

EU felt like they were running on all individual skill, no real teamwork or planning.
But I guess that makes sense, heard they didn't practice much.

It was Gambit + two. All the Gambit players had occasional flashes of brilliances. Meanwhile Yellowpete decides he wants to play a tank for most of the game.

Yellowpete played well vs. KR, compared to normal Yellowpete. However, that was because Genja was also playing well while the rest of the team did a dissappearing act.

I feel like Brawl told us what Nintendo wants from the franchise and I don't really have any faith in them to care about what people like me want from it so I really just don't have any hopes or expectations for the next SSB. Sorry to sound jaded on it, but I just don't think there's a happy ending in this for the competitive SSB scene. Just gotta rely on hackers, I've heard Project M is actually starting to see some tournament play lol. Although the new game is being made by Namco Bandai so maybe there is hope? (not sure if that makes it better or worse lol)

wonder how long till riot realises trundle is batshit OP ...

I am posting so i can see what post icon I have.
Man, I went back and played some 64 and Melee, those games move so freaking fast, I can barely tell what's happening when I play now, man I'm getting old. Everyone made fun of me for playing Kirby and Pikachu The fact that they're OP explains how I won so much though :<. Brawl would be a good game except for a couple things, Nintendo pls, nerf Metaknight.
Idunno, Lurkers were never really a problem for me to deal with in BW, though PvZ was definitely my best matchup. 80% of Zergs I played just tried to contain me with them, and I just said fuck you and spammed zealot drops while building HT and carriers.
When over 1/2 your supply is in expensive gas units that don't shoot up, you lose.
Trundle is truly a troll character because in teamfights he basically gets a hp reset every time an enemy champ dies. It's like that Dominion/TT item Overlord's Bloodmail, but better.

Infinite time. Unless he gets a gapcloser or AOE disable.

Trundle's always been able to kill anything he reaches with his stupid stat boosts and drains. Shy's like that too. But now that people are playing him again they're like "oh right, he can just auto literally anything in the game to death".
