It's because people don't see the point in having all these other games when at the end of the day they are meaningless since it's all about that one match. Just want Riot to choose either league structure or "one weekend style elim" tourny. Right now they in limbo on both and it doesn't seem right. Whole first half of the year is utterly meaningless. As it stands only the top 2 placings hold any meaning so it's almost pointless for everyone else to play their games.

Also, does nobody else think it's shitty that you basically have to be in the LCS or you have literally nothing to do for 6 months? There's no hype, there's no stories, pros don't play soloq anymore, there will never be an event as amazing as IPL 5 again.. This might be an unpopular opinion, but LCS has kinda killed e-sports for me. I don't know how to fix this.

You don't make any sense. Please tell me the % chance you think: CLG, Dig, Col, and MRN will lose the Bo5. There are 32 Group Stage teams in the Champions League. From 2010-11 to 2011-12 19 of the 32 teams changed. That is 60% turnover. In other words, given even all 4 losing...less turnover. Only last year's winner is guaranteed a spot as well.

I don't know how to fix this. it's definitely sad that there's no leagues underneath LCS. but LCS was pretty hype. happy that pros don't play soloq anymore. right now ogn/lpl are so much better in terms of skill. LCS (at least NA LCS) has done a good job improving NA teams. they're still not at the level of ogn/lpl, but they're so much better than they were at the beginning of the season. stories are a marketing thing... pro sports in the 90s compared to 2000+ shows that. nowadays in sports, someone points a finger at someone and twitter/newspapers/espn is a blaze with the analysis of the angle of the finger and whether or not someone in the audience was the real recipient

Riot announced (but I don't have a link sorry) that they're only going to be releasing one champion a month at max for the foreseeable future. So if you play enough to grind up 6300 IP a week you'll catch up eventually.

I've tried to watch streams (I used to learn a lot watching Voy but lately I only ever see him do trolly/experimental stuff) but don't feel like I learn much other than learning mid from Ecco. Tips? Trying to break that plat barrier as I'm only a few games away, then hopefully diamond near the end of the season.

I don't know what else to say. There are some soloq specific things you could be doing, but there isn't much more to League than that. Maybe you could upload a replay or a vod or something?

So if you play enough to grind up 6300 IP a week you'll catch up eventually. 6300 a week is quite a lot. Granted that would actually catch you up at a decent pace(several months if you have a decent champ roster already, which isn't such a huge amount of time in the overall timeline of the game), but it's still ridiculous to think about sustaining that for period of time. I have a little lag time between this semester ending and picking up more work hours where I could maybe grind that out, but it's also summer time and I enjoy a tan and women in bikinis. Those tough life choices...

Even less, since older champions IP costs get lowered over time.

I can try to stream and record the broadcast later tonight if my computer decides it wants to let me, haha. It's more of a decision making/tilting problem. Like, I feel like I've lost sense of when to trade or when to farm. I used to play heavily aggro on Akali and almost always won lane/game majority of the time (she's my highest WR champ). Tried it today, got completely dumped on. I don't really know how to play from behind because I'm not used to it (I usually play heroes I'm comfortable with, but most of them got the nerfhammer and I'm having a hard time adjusting my playstyle, ex. Akali, Riven, Lee top). Occasionally I'd have those games where I go 0/4, but a majority of the time I'd know how to handle each matchup. Should I just start playing passive/farming when I fall behind? What if I get zoned (ex. TF vs Diana - I was TF, was slightly ahead, thought I could win a trade when I couldn't, ended up falling to 1-3-0 and had to practically support the rest of the game), should I just let them take tower and hope my team wins?

He meant that's his pace of acquiring IP, which will leave him never coming anywhere close to catching up to the full roster(in fact it might actually mean he falls further behind, could easily math it out since the IP reductions are set in stone at this point correct?).

There's no reason to play aggressively in the mid lane if you're behind (on kill potential, that is to say you can't win the 1v1). Freezing middle is almost impossible and most of the time the Diana will just push and go do wraiths/roam, in which case you can get those creeps for free under your tower. You also only have to walk half the distance that she does in the case that she roams, so you have like 5 seconds of free time where you can do anything (i.e. get those creeps). This applies for top, too, despite the fact that many people don't know. If there's nothing you can do in your lane, just roam bottom. You're still stronger than anyone (ad, support, jungler) and you can easily make game winning plays despite the fact that you'd get your shit slapped in top lane. Akali is especially good for this because her lane ganks are unreal, provided bottom has at least one CC. If you don't know when to trade, just trade and see what happens. Afterwards, try analyzing why you won/lost the trade, and use this knowledge for the next game. People shouldn't be too shortsighted, as improvement is much more important than one or two wins. It also depends who you're against. Akali completely rapes some lanes and gets completely raped by others. Diana, Darius, anyone who's a shortrange dueler will absolutely crush you, in which case you should simply farm, wait for a gank, wait for the other guy to get over confident and dive you, or go roam bottom like I said. It goes without saying I think that you shouldn't fight if you can't win. With the way snowball works in League, you can't outplay people with raw skill if you're at a disadvantage, so it's mostly decision making that's making you die. Any death is a mistake (I consider every death a mistake, unless you got 3+ kills/baron for it), and a miscalculation of sorts. Analyze what was wrong in your decision making. For your question, it's mostly been answered, either play passively and wait for better circumstances or aggressively roam the other lanes. The most important thing is not to die. Even if it's 15 minutes and you're 50 CS behind, it doesn't matter if you've never died. TF will almost never be able to out-trade Diana, but TF out-roams Diana, Guess what you should have done in the situation. You can also push from a big range. Towers are important but they aren't worth dying for, and if you can't defend the turret anyway you might as well try to make big plays bottom. I'm repeating myself a lot here, because there isn't much to say without specific situations. If you want to record something, I can look at it for you. I'm not really doing much anyway
