Might have something to do with the whole difficulty of having to ward the map yourself survive everyone trying to kill you doing such all the while trying to take farm without earning the ire of your team and trying to "carry". Also to note you are doing this without the ability to actually kill enemy players most of the time.

About people saying thresh has a 53.5% winrate while being a "hard champion".

Thresh may be hard to play perfectly, but he is also crazy op. His lantern ganks are almost unwardable, his q knock up combo almost as strong as blitz combo without as much displacement of the enemy, his ult is stupid strong, and to combo with all of that he isn't melee range like would make sense, but has ranged poke in lane.

Doesnt matter how hard a champion is to play if even if you play him badly you still have more effect on the game then other supports.

It's really easy for support players to just zone out of their own mistakes because "I'm support and there's nothing I could do to save this game". As such, it's very easy for support players to get into a bad mindset that is detrimental to their own improvement.

Thresh doesn't rely on landing a hook to win lane. He doesn't even have to lane his Q on a champion to use it as an engage which is sick. It just seems like they gave the guy 1 or 2 too many advantages in his toolkit compared to the average support. His worst spells is his E and that's a mid-cd knockback skill with a huge slow added, which says a fuckton a lot about a champion's strength.

I mean was it really necessary to give the guy a huge AoE shield, free armor, free damage on his auto, AND have him be ranged? His Q and W without the bells and whistles are among some of the most powerful skills as is.

Not a huge fan of these articles because I find he is both needlessly roundabout, and he analyses in such a way to be useless in an actual game.

The answer to this question is hybrid marks/quints are cost efficient when more than 40% of your damage is of the other type after accounting for mitigation. From my experience, this is only on-hit Teemo and Gunblade Jax. Jax with TF does more physical, and AP Teemo does more magical damage.

If you are playing a mixed damage champion on a single damage type focused team (have an AD mid of example) it could become more efficient to take hybrid runes since enemy MR will likely be correspondingly lower relative to armour. In your example, if the enemy is armour stacking and not building MR, hybrid runes will become cost efficient.

Overall, since you are likely only going to build a single penetration item (if at all), it is usually going to be more efficient to take a single rune type due to the multiplicative scaling of penetration items.
There's no way 40% can be true, hybrid pen is so close to single penetration. I could almost guarantee that Jax benefits from hybrid more than apen even with triforce, especially when you count the time before it's finished(which is when penetration runes are at their best).

You are right. I hadn't looked at their new values, and they have gone from being 60% of the penetration of single type runes to >70%, so the numbers are going to have to be adjusted. I didn't realize that they didn't adjust all of the runes by the same amount with the s3 changes.

So I just hit 30 and did placement games, managed to get Silver 3. Hoped for better but hey that's a start. Dunno why I'm posting this. If anyone wants to Duo on EUW give me a shout. I play anything just lack some support champs.

Support is annoying for me because I feel like I have a good grasp of when to go in and where not to go in but my ad's often don't, or they just don't know how two champs work together. Like yesterday we were Thresh/Varus, and I spotted the enemy MF/Taric in the riverbrush. So I throw the lantern by my AD, and Q at the same time, yank MF out and drop the box. Obviously Taric stuns me... and then I die. Varus autos once or twice, then dies.

The AD complains "why did you go in". I have to explain it literally step by step. I grab MF, Taric reflexively burns his stun on me, wasting their only CC. Varus can fire off a pointblank ulti and W at MF and then just kill her. I shielded Varus preemptively, and he can reposition from danger by grabbing it as well.I saved my E in case MF ults, or to slow her once she begins to escape.

My old AD DuoQ partner and I were so in sync as Leona/ someone else that wen I went in for my WEQ combo he'd be able to proc sunlight all 3 times. The extra 100+ damage from the 3rd proc/ auto was so fucking good. Don't get that kind of awesomeness much anymore. :/

Also, I get really annoyed when AD starts telling me when to do my job-- ward this, ward that, go stand in that bush, etc. I DON'T TELL YOU WHAT DO, SO STOP BOTHERING ME.

Don't worry, I hear the best you can get on placements is gold 5 from a fresh account, and that's if you win them all.

It was so nice having every key point warded. I love having amazing supports as opposed to just good or okay.

Meh. When I adc I prefer Thresh over Blitz. I just enjoy Thresh's kit more. I feel he brings better team fight than a silence that doesn't last that long.

depends, thresh can be like good, bad and in between, i ve yet to see the inbetween blitz thou, he either is super bad or he wins your lane

I like playing support, as I think does most players from time to time.
It sucks however when you get underleveled and gets pushed into pasically a 2-spell and ward-bot, or as said when your team isn't on the same wavelength as you are.
Like, I played a bit of mid/top this week with Renektron and Lux, and wow, suddenly I'm 18 at like 25-30 minutes! that's a HUGE difference in fun, from being like level 13-14 at that time, which even happens in pro games I believe.
Nothing is impossible, only some things for some people.

Thats why I like him in soloque, he is like the aggressive version of soraka where he requires no communication. You land a pull and they shoot him, with thresh they can fuck up or overengage or ignore hooks or whatever.
