In my opinion part of what made Twitch win the war (besides obvious better performance) was the very easy registration and fun and accessible chat. Plus there is a whole slew of other gaming channels/communities on Twitch. I love me some speedrunning. Well they aren't profitable at all right now at least. They recently got a lot of investor cash and have been spending all that cash on more capacity and more employees. Thats a sign that someone at least thinks that its going to be a profitable platform and are willing to give some money to it.

there are a billion reasons why melee carries work in dota, anything from bkb to farm difference to damage items that also give defensive stats or benefits (butterfly/manta), to agi heroes having increased armor as they get more damage. not to mention cleave being very strong, and then you have things like black hole/reverse polarity/chronosphere, stuns that can disable entire teams to let your melee carry go to work.
in lol the melee characters feel too squishy and sensitive to stun to really be able to carry like dota, whether or not they're in the jungle.

Vi doesn't have anything new in terms of kit, it's really the archetype and implementation that clicked with me (Falcon Punch, Malphite/Noc-like cc immunity during the fearful ult charge, the feeling that your champ really breaks stuff with his autos and E animations/sounds, etc.). She's also a "damage jungler" and she works better for me than Noc (I think she's stronger as long as you have something to make up for the lack of Noc's fear: tankier, better dps, faster clears) so she rounds up my roster pretty well (Maokai, Mundo, Nautilus and a bit of Amumu for my other junglers, so more utility/tanky ones).
And as for teamfighting it's been harder for me to play Jax/Irelia in s3 and Olaf/Xin teamfighting isn't exactly the same style, while Wukong is even further from it (more caster-like), so I like the fact that I can keep that playstyle through the hard-ships my favourite champs went through (I tended to get some sustain if the champ doesn't have some and then stack resistances so I'm just hard to kill).
On January 25 2013 01:47 barbsq wrote: edit: I havn't played her since the patch, would you say the cc-immunity on her ult is more reliable now than it was before, alaric? Kus i remember it being about 50/50, and def not something to bet any money on. Never had a problem with it. It's just that a standard instant gap-closer allows their whole team to turn on you and burst you down (unless you're really REALLY tanky), while Vi's ult animation being somewhat slow works the same as Taric's stun: your team knows what's going to be happening and can react accordingly when you initiate with it. Also a displacement on potentially their whole team helps disrupting a rush after some initiation.
On January 25 2013 02:31 Seuss wrote: If you're ganking with Vi pre-6 think like Xin Zhao. You don't want to use your gap closer immediately unless you absolutely have to because they're just going to flash the moment you jump to them anyway. I tend to not care because hitting Q usually means I'll still get E (and hence a W proc) off through flash if I have a red buff (thanks added mobility and knock-back forcing them to flash over me and lose distance), so nice damage+blown flash is a win for me if I have a camp nearby or they're low enough to be dove once the laner pushes. Though champs like Katarina and Talon tend to screw me over, and those smart enough to flash as I release the charge and not after they've been hit.

If the risk is less than the potential reward then companies invest.

I am happy that own3d is going under. That will surely make streams from CURSENA more watchable.

I've been wondering for long now, and i gotta ask. Is there any possibility for an immortal-run in LoL? Like playing 10 games, winning them all and not dying a single game. I'm seriously willing to throw money in, if someone would be able to do this, i find it more or less impossible.

Fairly certain the only way to do this is to tank your Elo all the way to the literal bottom of the barrel, be a 2000+ level player already, and play someone who can just be invincible or uncatchable a.la. Ez/Rengar/Trynd.
Edit: And even then there's no certainly at all of victory.

Sure it's possible in theory.
Smurfing is your best bet I'd assume. Play safe and stay in the back.
Even easier if you smurf with 4 other people that concentrate on that goal too.
throw in some amount of luck, and you have it.

Definitely Ezreal would be the best choice for that. Pro player on Ezreal at 0 elo could do it. Pro player in his respective elo could not do it unless he got extreeemely lucky. Sometimes you gotta die in order to better your chances of winning. You could go 10 games without dying pretty easily but actually winning the game would be a whole new challenge.

I know this korean ad player called Score who does this without even having a bet on the line.

could probably just smurf with 5 people on level 1 accounts and have one dedicated to not dying

I'm 4-0 on PBE averaging 1 death per game because I do stupid things like try to 1v5 them and see how it works.
A better player than me with more dedication to specifically 1) not dying and 2) winning the game fast could easily go 10-0 with no deaths.

To summarize, the math remains accurate, but the playstyle is extremely restrictive. A better method is to emulate XJ9's solo queue jungle style, only explicit as an arranged team. If the jungler is allowed to levy a reasonable tax on lanes after a gank, they can have a monstrous amount of farm by the mid-game whether or not their ganks are particularly successful. Essentially, TheYango's comments from earlier are fairly on point. Because the gold value of jungle farm is in close parity with lanes now, junglers can be assigned a wider variety of farm priorities. It's simply a question of whether a highly farmed jungler is what the team wants or needs.
true in theory, and i've thought about this for a while now, but i've never seen it actually work in 5s. Even xj9 gets raped in 5s.

why am i so bad at aram? i just got lux, supposedly the most OP character in aram and i went 2-9
