I thought that if you were a performer or such you could get in at 16.

Like I said: it goes by state law. There have already been issues in the past.

Oddone and Chaox can easily hit over 22k. I don't think you get close to that if they were to stream scrims. You wouldn't get their personality, advice and thoughts on things. Just the face playing in a serious game. Streaming scrims also seems very counter productive. TSM is currently scrimmaging as I type this, off stream. You practice your tournament strategies most of the time. You grant access to everyone to have a peak into what you are thinking. I guess if they did stream them, this current Dyrus issue wouldn't be an issue.
So if we figure they are streaming for profit, to cover expenses solo q would be the way.As for the hours needed in a day to get a decent amount of scrims, it could be possible. Perhaps Loco could give us some secret information on the practice schedule of CLG. You would. It's already been evidenced in the past. The times where viewership drops off are when you have long periods of downtime and/or crushing one-sided victories over and over. Neither of those are specific to scrims, though, but the downtime especially tends to be exacerbated.

I'm pretty sure Pobelter is like the only player who wasn't able to go to a previous IPL event 'cause of his age. And he was only 15 at the time. I think he's 16 now, yeah?
edited because the last sentence was worded really poorly.

The reason why they have to stream as much as they do is simple. Money, they need to be able to sustain themselves so they are able to have the gaming house. This fits mostly for TSM/CLG. You don't frequently see Scarra or the rest of Dig streaming. He does it every once in a while to keep in touch with the fanbase. Which is a reason why TSM/CLG are so important to LoL. They have a ton of fans. Sc2 was big when it was released and had a ton of foreigners. Then as the Korean dominance showed up the viewer numbers dropped. I'm not saying its tied together, but I do know the most popular GSL nights have a foreigner in them. Personality is a big aspect of what keeps people watching.
I want NA to succeed, I want TSM back on top. People just need to accept and realize there are so many issues of why foreigners fall behind. Again, this is no excuse when at the beginning of LoL's rise in Korea, there were only 3 major teams, EDG, MiG, and OP, and no minor teams, period. They still found scrim partners, even if it meant scrimming other regions and taking the ping disadvantage. Because at the time the Koreans had no choice but to play with the ping disadvantage. Most already had the lvl 30 accounts here with a chuck of champions+runes. The investment in time to earn that is large for NA to do it. Plus TSM already did that long ago to play on EU. Its a LoL first world problem. Westrice the other day, said on stream he couldn't use Singed in scrims because he didn't have proper runes.
You can't use the reason of when LoL rose in Korea they only had 3 major teams. When within a few months, they have more than enough players to roster whats likely close to 12+ sponsored teams. Obviously they had plenty of players dedicating a ton of time to go to the next level. I don't imagine each team picked a random 5 to pickup. We may not have known the team names they were on. Its highly unlikely there wasn't a great amount of minor teams. So to say they had zero, seems silly.

I mean we are just talking about the casino floor/gambling areas though right?
I am not saying as a teenager you are allowed to just wander around the gambling area, I am saying you can walk through it to get to your destination as long as you don't stop and touch anything.
I guess there is something in the law saying something about needing a parent/guardian with you while in a casino area/gambling area, but I have never, ever had anyone ask me to leave a casino when I was without my parent/guardian. I've gone to the movies at casinos, I've gone to concerts at casinos, I've gone to shows at casinos, I've met up with friends from out of town at casinos.
The fact is that if they aren't playing the games in the same space that gambling is taking place, there shouldn't be ANY problem.
Also I played at MLG 2006 Vegas, I was 16, there were a ton of kids under the age of 21 at that event, never had any issues. I know for a fact that one of the players at MLG 2008 championships at hardrock was under the age of 18. (there was no open bracket at that event, so I didn't play)
I also have played several magic release events and ptqs at casinos, Sunset Station had quite a few of them for some reason, maybe the space was cheap
Maybe IPL needs to pick a new venue???
|
When I went to Vegas I saw kids of 8-9 years old walking around the casino so I doubt they have any restriction at all as long as you aren't actually gambling.

Bad guide, he doesn't even take the movement speed in the defensive tree. Obviously has no idea about how to play hecarim.

This is not as funny as one of the Udyr guides I've seen on TSM. It's called something along the lines of "suicidal Udyr" and recommends all flat AD runes.

ya the original vaporized guide that was based off was much funnier(especially cuz he was serious lmao) but he edited it

Anyone have pathing issues where you'll suddenly turn around and go the exact opposite way you click (especially in the jungle)? Seems like this is happening somewhat frequently to me, causing me to die.

This is TL the rise of the Koreans shouldn't surprise anyone. You can compare it to any game featured on this site. NA sc2 players in gaming houses practice hours on end. They still aren't able to compete with the Koreans. The talent pool is greater in Korea with that game as well as in LoL.
The obvious solution for this would be for the foreign teams to relocate to Korea. Fortunately Riot realizes the importance of teams like TSM/CLG that will keep them relevant forever. I'm not saying they don't scrim, I'm saying they don't do it consistently enough. Hardly scrimming at all for like 80% of the year and then suddenly scrimming alot right before each tournament is not going to produce the same results as consistent scrimming all year.¨ And I don't think it suprises anyone, but we're saying it's not inevitable. It's not due to Koreans being naturally better are games, or even that their culture or infrastructure or whatever is vastly superior. In the end what it comes down to is motivation and commitment of the players. As for SC2 gaming houses back when I followed SC2 they did the exact same thing lol players are doing now. They set up a house, and then instead of having players actually pracise with each other the players streamed ladder. I don't know if that has changed now and if NA players have wised up, I hope they have. I still feel the situations are very similar. As are the results. Its difficult to scrim frequently in NA. There are a total of 4 pro teams, Dignitas, Curse, CLG, and TSM. All of the other minor ones that pop up every once in a while, have players that have obligations outside of the game. Organizing consistent scrims with them could be quite challenging. So with the downtime the players are almost forced to solo q to practice their lanes against other top players.
i can give a little insight to this and say it's not really 100% true the "smaller" teams take games off the bigger teams all the time, consistently even any time any team wants a scrim, there will be another team to play them the problem in the NA scene is just that no team respects any other team. listening to managers talk about scrims... "well 4not is available to scrim but they're shitty. dignitas said they'd be on now but so and so is napping. we could play that new team but they're all shit tier solo queue pubstompers. TD wants to scrim but they have that shit xxx laner blah blah blah. we could play against orb but they only troll during scrims it's a waste of time" every team thinks it's a waste of time to play any other team, so they sit around or stream solo queue instead. there just need to be more mature people running the teams and holding them accountable and the scene will progress quickly. the skill level is definitely there, it's just 100% the wrong attitudes

I've found that spamclicking (BW habits zzz) causes pathing to inadvertently freak out or for you to misclick and go somewhere dumb a lot.
But in the jungle, default pathing usually gets you killed, so I kind of which they implemented shift click so I can move around the jungle the way I want while also looking somewhere else on the map without having to micro too hard

I've had it happen just outside of dragon pit in the river, where there are no walls nearby...

Whenever I die on accident I blame it on pathing o_O
