I almost never see these "40 cs at 20 minutes" AD carries or anything you guys claim to see. It's actually crazy how well people CS nowadays. I remember 2 years back when someone actually last hitting was a sign of you finally getting into a pretty good Elo. Now everyone last hits =(. I'd love to compare a top 5 rank player from preseason vs today's 1500 Elo player and see how that goes.

Same thing happened in BW and SC2 (probably, I don't play it anymore really). Compare early progamer play to Iccup B levels a few years later.

Wow that site that is sponsoring ocelote now ( digibet.com) has some sick odds for s2 championships.
Gotta do some research first if that site is legit but im genuinly thinking of betting like 50€ on both iG and Najin Sword to win it all because they give 23:1 odds for those. Maybe even a small sum on SK and Saigon Jokers who get 51:1.
TPA and WE is 34:1 and I gotta say all odds for iG,Sword, TPA and WE are really interesting considering that they give "only" 3:1 for M5 and TSM and 6-8:1 for clg.eu/na and frost.

I've always felt this way. It's not like gap closing champs or flash didn't exist before.
Made me think about the champs I started with. I loved Morgana (then Irelia and Swain, out of the picture on that matter), and also Kog'Maw even tho I never got around to play him. Ashe was fun to me because of those arrows from downtown.
Now, I've leveled up, improved from reaching 30 onwards, my tastes and playstyle have evolved, and that is one thing I take into account (poor Morg wouldn't be able to join my "towerdive all day" club, even if she stopped being banned not manly enough for Panth/Udyr/Nunu/Mundo). But as I noticed upon playing Sona again after her big nerfs a few months ago, it wasn't only her that changed but also the trends, going from sustain passive farmfest botlane to hyper-aggro "I'll shove you out of there at the slighest slip from your part" botlane, where her squishiness is exacerbated and she went from "harass and zone almost by yourself" to "mistep and you're burst 100-0 in a blink" (never blink, dude). The discovery of max W Ezreal, popularity of Graves, Leona, Blitzcrank helped, too.
Back to the more general topic, I don't think Morgana would be as fulfilling for me as she would have been had I been able to play her say 6 months ago. She can kill somebody if she uses her full combo, but if she picks off one by herself before a fight, she can lose most of her usefulness since she won't have her ult. And her teamfighting capability revolves almost entirely around it. Concomitantly, a lot of popular mids like Gragas, Ahri, Diana, Katarina, Zyra have their ult as the "ace of spades" part of their kit, or useful tool, but they're not too reliant on hit and can still dish out good sustained damage in a teamfight even after they "wasted" their ult on a single person. Of course Morgana has forces. But these make me see her as more of a very good pick in her niche, and a mediocre one in an all-around situation.
Similarly, I used to feel "safe" playing Kog'Maw or Ashe, and part of it is to be found in the lack of coordination of my opponents, especially since I almost didn't play Kog since what I'd call my biggest batch of improvements. But the plethora of champs released with gap closers of all sorts (Rengar, Jayce, Kha'Zix, Diana, Hecarim, Fiora) or just long range (Zyra, Jayce, Ziggs) makes it so that champions without a means of escape are more "vulnerable" than ever. An escape mechanic, which used to be seen as a perk, has changed to be seen as a defect when it is lacking. On the other hand, champs with no gap closer like Mundo, Udyr, Nasus are seen as weaker because they don't have that initiation power (also some champions like Anivia can singlehandedly make all of them useless in most teamfight situations), are more easily shutdown, and in general more dependable on the rest of their team. Also, see Jarvan's ult for a prime example.
In some way, I'm eager to see what would come out of teams basing their compositions on the team's inner synergy rather than the sum of its components (champs put together). As MoonBear pointed out, the idea of having a burst-oriented team to make efficient use of Skarner's ult and power in the midgame (before QSS is out) may be an example of those compositions, even if it's still related to one champ (I guess Blitzcrank, Nautilus and somewhat Darius are less "safe" picks for this).
TL;DR: too many gapclosers, melee champs without them and ranged champs without escape mechanism are marginalized, too many countermeasures to them and not enough to gapclosers. I'd like to see Riot experiment with melee champs with no gapclosers and the kind of stuff they could afford to grant them to make up for that, or new mechanics to counteract the prominence of mobility in popular champions' kits.
For example silly idea that I had just now: zone control spells that are tuned to react more strongly to champs initiating with mobility skills, say "knockbacks the next enemy champion coming within 200 range based upon its entry speed" (walk in, get slowed with little damage, dash/jump/teleport in, eat a knockback with more damage) or the opposite, that'd hamper champs trying to get away from you (that one would probably be pretty harsh because of how it'd interact with Flash).

illegal in the US (UIGEA made most online betting illegal)
Honestly though...eSports and gambling is just a recipe for disaster.

You are correct that the majority of online gambling is illegal for yanks.

Curse vs. mMe starting right now. Xmithie is on Kha'Zix and Westrice is on Rengar, hopefully we get to see that 'unique interaction' in a tourney setting!

I'm not gonna lie, trolling my irl friend who wants gold has been a deeply rewarding experience.

Also, to follow up from before, I'll likely be getting LoL replay up tonight and recording some games. It'll be fun.

There isn't really an easy solution to this because it's inherently tied delicately into the issue of melee/ranged balance, which LoL (and the genre in general) has struggled with for years.
I seem to remember this topic being somewhat well-discussed going all the way back to beta.

I play support, and ADC is rarely the best guy on my team. So I do what I can for him during lane phase, then I tag along with the smart guy afterwards. How is that working out for you in terms of your elo-level and enjoyment? Just curious, I get bored if I have to support more than 4-5 games in a row.
I main support, so its not a big deal. It saves a lot of grief not having to argue about what role you want. I haven't really played any since school started though, just log in on my EU/NA accounts to pick up wotd now and then. My elo was 1500 at the end of the summer, but its been dropping from inactivity I guess.
I dunno why you imply support isn't fun. It's a party.

Kha'Zix evolved Q looks like? His ganks are fucking nuts, looks like a new jungle to me.

Fucking westrice lmao. He has a nice ult timing to get invis before Darius can finish him off with ult but right after the clutch play he decides to leap at Darius and dies to his ult. Funniest thing is he said "yea i cant do anything this lane."
Typical top laner.

Typical top laner. I remember Nyjacky was duoing with Westrice. Westrice escapes in mid with like 20 health, because Nyjacky comes in to snare the person that was on his ass. Then Westrice decides to fucking jump back into fight to try and grab kill, and dies instead, and kill still goes to Nyjacky.
Nyjacky was fucking furious "WHY DID YOU GO BACK IN?!" (in his accent).

Whoever is spectating is annoying. Yes, watch bot lane farm instead of the positioning and trading in mid.
