Of course it exists. It's a state of mind; you believe it exists, therefore it does.

so i finally got to play kha'zix in a ranked game, got my ass whooped by jax top, ended up 3-9, and i can safely say my signature is once again true 8) also, i know this is a terrible sample size (1 game lol) but i'm pretty sure rengar is still much much stronger than kha'zix (and kha'zix is really strong). i think i'm going to abuse rengar games while people are busy banning kha'zix this weekend, then learn kha'zix in full next week. big plans, this guy

I did the mistake back when I just hit level 30 and was totally noob to play rankeds. Now i've carried myself up from the high 700's ELO to 900, but the people who play here are so so so bad. How are you supposed to carry yourself up from there? Example 1) Someone picks yi, and is afk for the first 4 minutes, when he comes back first thing he writes "i feed" and proceeds to do that. Example 2) Happens in almost every match in this ELO, tower divers. They will ALWAYS chase low HP enemy and usually get themselves killed and another team mate too. Pinging then to fall back does not help. I have never played at 900 Elo (I am really curious to try) but I did play at 1100. Basically if you are sufficiently more skilled than your peers you will easily raise Elo, because regardless if some Yi goes 0-5 in lane, so long as you can go 5-0 in lane you can still carry the game, provided you picked the right champion for the job. To this point, I think I need to only play support or AD anymore, it always seems like the enemy AD gets fed whenever I play jungle or top. No matter how hard I camp or win my own lane, it feels a bit futile when the enemy Ez is 40 farm and 5 kills up for no apparent reason. In a similar line of thought, what are thoughts on Jayce in the AD carry role in bot lane? Are there matchups/support picks that are strong with him? I know I should probably stick to a "normal" AD carry, but I feel like Jayce is one of my better champions, the one that I've had the best luck carrying with recently. Jayce/Leona or Jayce/Blitz lane seems pretty strong, maybe even Jayce/Soraka for infinite EQ pew pew.

Q- really, really long delay. Feels really awkward to me. Even against a completely stationary target (minions) it feels clunky. W- this is okay, other than it is a two click spell, so it is hard to combo E- this is my biggest gripe- how on earth do you land a stun against someone paying attention? The range is also awful. And the cooldown is really, really, really long. I suppose that is because you can in theory stun a large portion of the enemy team, but in practice I just don't see it happening. Oh, and the scaling AP ratio on this is terrible. R- fine, except it's pretty obvious when you're setting up to use it. I personally feel like the reward is pretty minimal given how much effort it takes to set stuff up her combos.

I can't see him being too great vs Trist unless he gets ahead early. On some reflection, I don't think there are really any supports that he doesn't synergize with. Kit too stronk.

ELO hell, I think, is the concept I brought up a while ago. It's a range where games aren't decided by skill, but luck. Who gets the least trolls? Who gets their high elo matched against the enemy low elo? Who has the player that counterpicks themselves or early-picks an easily countered champion? My last three days have gone: Tuesday) Trolls and feeders on my team 2 games, can't do anything about fed Vayne. Wednesday) Trolls and feeders on the enemy team 2 games, they can't do anything about fed Jayce and Corki. Thursday) Trolls and feeders on my team 2 games, can't do anything about 7-0 Ezreal with literally triple Sivir's farm. Does it even out? Yes, and you can take that to mean it's "balanced" and that skill will eventually win out over a long period of time, but it's not fucking fun over that long period of time. Either you win stupidly one-sided or lose terribly one-sided, it's rare (though sometimes happens) that you get a close game or a turnaround outside of throwing a won match. So yeah, a skilled person will "escape from ELO hell", but it's not enjoyable, even if you're winning. Just my $0.02

I go into the first one: 0/4 Malphite: "[All] Malphite: 9X Jarvan" I go into the second one: 0/1/1 Vayne: "[All] Vayne: 9X Taric" Now i don't feel so bad about my ELO.

Unless you pink ward every bush even if your team has oracles if your AD carry steps slightly to the side BAM no more HP.

Man that made me imagine instagib on UT2004 with league characters.. Xerath would be a god, and Karthus would get a pentakill every 3 minutes. More seriously, I have mixed thoughts on DFG. It can be considered a problem because instagibbing is a problem, or because it gives the power to instagib to champions who should not have it, and/or because it make it difficult to balance champions who should be able to instagib etc. It's an item that straddles a complicated issue, and it's not one that I've fully processed.

On September 29 2012 00:08 Shikyo wrote: elo hell... It's generally at just elo ranges where winning even 4v5 is possible and 5v5s should be easy. Sure you'll have some impossible games but winrates should still be at like 75%+ unless it's changed drastically since I last was at 1100 See, but I'm under no assumptions that I'm a "super high ELO" player, I just feel that I'm above the 1100~1200 range. I generally either win my lane pretty easily or go even enough and don't feed, and I usually have a pretty big impact on winning fights once teamfights come around. I think about my builds, try to pick smart in champ select, and ward, so I feel like my skill level is at least high enough to get that Janna skin, but probably not much higher. I'm not egotistical enough to think I'm some held-back 1900 player who can dominate everything, so when higher level players look at my games and go "well, you should be able to carry this, they're bad", just know that I'm not quite to that skill level yet. Can a smurfing 2k player carry a team of 1200 retards with great mechanics and positioning? Yes, I'd believe that without a doubt. Can a probably ~1450 player carry that same team by only having pretty good mechanics and awareness (not on the same level as the 2k player)? Maybe not, probably not. So just saying "if you're better, you should be able to carry 100% of games" isn't always true. It probably feels true from a high Gold or Plat player, but not down here, honestly.

Math and statistics means that if you're consistently outperforming your teammates, you will win 55% of your games on average until you are no longer consistently outperforming your teammates. If you have 200 games and you're still at the elo you started, it means you are not consistently better than your teammates. Maybe in certain matchups with certain champions are are miles ahead but you are probably also doing other things wrong. I (1250) played a normal today and thanks to mass TL premades everyone else was 1500ish. Our top laner fed super hard, and eventually Rengar came out of nowhere and 1shot me as I was warding. I was kind of mad like "wtf how does rengar do that much damage you suck top" but then he replied with "why are you warding an exposed position when 5 of them are mia?" He was probably having a bad game, whereas I never thought about his reply and thus would explain why I on aggregate I end up losing games I could've won and why I'm at my elo and he's at his.
