that doesn't make any sense. yorick doesn't take any less skill as any other champ he just beats most people in lane doesn't mean you don't need any skill or whatever. | ||

But you need a brain to play any champ, even if it doesnt look hard you have to think about what you're doing and its true on yorick as well. Playing yorick require some minor skills, he's sure broken but you can mess up with him if you're doing it wrong. You can hate yorick, i hate yorick, but man dont be so biased.  | ||

1. A good Yorick is absolutely terror. Only champs that have stood a chance were Irelia, Renekton and Vladimir (post 20 mins with jungle pressure). 2. Yorick cannot use the 'herpderp Dblades phage' build, so after that crucial first or second buy, he's really fragile. All he has is tear and boots, so jungle pressure then has tons of potential to kill him. This is a tough situation to be in as Yorick. 3. As Yorick, you have to kite VERY WELL to obtain obnoxious status, especially when behind. As Yorick has no dashes, stuff like Irelia just kind of sticks to you like glue when they're ahead. Furthermore, as tear start is basically mandatory, if you fall behind, they can just dive you under tower. 4. As Yorick has no dashes, he does NOT escape ganks that well. He is no riven/renekton/Kennen/Vlad who are both bullies in lane and virtually ungankeable. 5. Because of his vulnerability to ganks, you kind of have to play passive with him. You're strong as fuark midgame so you can afford to buy 2+ wards every time you B, but even then you're in a wonky situation. You pick Yorick to dunk your lane, but if you push your lane to keep your opponent in lane you expose him to his biggest weakness; ganks. Having good map awareness on Yorick is key, as (once again) you have no herpderp dashes to save your ass, AND you're squishy early. 6. This balancing of lane pressure and safety takes a lot of practice to get right. I feel like a lot of the anti-Yorick rage comes from those games where you a) can't counterpick him b) get no jungle presence. As a result, he kind of just slaps his junk in your face untill you have to leave lane. Yorick IS a very strong pick atm imo, but I feel like much of the rage in this thread is unappreciating him. If he's so retard-proof, why isn't his winrate that high? It's because there's more to him than meets the eye. | ||

You can't run, you can't farm, and unless you can kill him in 3 trades or less, he just seems to heal back up. Hiding under tower means you get harassed. Learned helplessness is shown to cause lowered self-efficacy and depression. If playing against a champion makes me want to kill myself, you can damn well bet I'm going to be unappreciative of him. | ||

Everyone just forgot about sustain laners because of out trade laners and laners who are hard to gank like irelia and jayce, and darius tho he's easy to gank. Rumble vlad and yorick are still the strong harass laners but they all get fucked hard if they die once or twice early. | ||

Its not like those guys can shut down Yorik. | ||

Ironically, I've had some success with "sustain" Irelia (max W) vs Yorick, before they cut the passive hp per hit in half. | ||
