You're gonna have non competitive picks in a 100 champions pool, that's inevitable. No need to be obsessed about it. ;; We had a decidedly and intentionally uncompetitive champ in Evelynn. No one liked that. Keep in mind that there is a BIG difference between "not to the taste/playstyle/strategy of worldclass teams" and "this champ is bad and you should feel bad". Evelyn and Twitch are understandable. Katarina, meeeh.. I guess it's okay, it's minor stuff. But I don't understand why changing Garen so much. He's a fun champion, nothing wong about him not being a competitive pick in the end. Might just be me.. But I'm okay with some champions being average. Not everything has to be played at the highest level. Kat wasn´t average, she was binary. She either dominated hard or her ult got interrupted and she did nothing at all. Garen is similar in that he is earlyloaded which for balance reasons had to make him turn into a liability late. No player EVER enjoys being a liability even if it´s theoretically justified. Remember that Leblanc got buffs to he lategame despite being the godqueen of the earlygame already. Kat didn't have to rely on her ult at all. WEQ, reset, WEQ is strong enough already if the teams are set up appropriately (not all enemies tanks and a bunch of burst on your team, preferably AoE). You wait until someone gets low and then you just Shunpo from kill to kill. The problem is of course that you can't do that if your team ever falls behind the enemy team. You don't have to be miles ahead, but you really can't fight while behind.

My experience was with kat, it's impossible to turn a game around game if your team is behind in the beginning of late game.

that is with every assassin-type champion especially if they have low utility and no real fallback tactics. akali and kat both suffer from this. fizz, kassadin and maybe talon still provide some major utility in teamfights as they can help disengaging and silencing/stunning the right target. shaco and yii are very good at splitpushing as you mostly need 2 or more champions to catch or even beat them. in the other hand akali and kat are what I would consider hard-carries as they are extremely hard to stop in the right teamcomp if they have a ton of farm while they are pityfull when underfarmed or even underleveled. kat is one of the assassins who saw the least tournaments so far I think mostly because she is highly situational

Same with almost any AP mids.
Her ability to "turn" a game depends on her ability to land a good ult or have a good cleanup. It is often possible to win otherwise impossible teamfights with Kat because of her potential damage from her R.

Yeah. It's kind of crazy since it's possible for her to lose lane, roam around and come back rich as hell lol. I feel like her new ult isn't going to be that much of an influence since pros should be able to stop her ult immediately.

Of so, would it be good to buy both, given how powerful that passive is? The tooltip is the same as Sheen/Triforce. So it is highly unlikely. Additionally, according to the Wiki the passive only operates on basic attack speed (not bonus) so by the time you can afford both its effectiveness will be significantly reduced, even if it did work. You're reading incorrectly. The procs reduces the total AS, but can only activated by basic attacks. No, he's reading just fine: Show nested quote +The passive effect on Randuin's Omen (shared with Warden's Mail), is the only attack speed slow in the game which subtracts from the affected target's attack speed bonus. In other words it means, that passive reduction works only on base attack speed of the target, so more attack speed one has, less passive effect reduces. All other sources (as Randuin's active part) reduce total attack speed. (Conflicting with attack speed page in the reductions section. Needs testing or some kind of comfirmation)
I'm the person who originally determined that Randuin's passive is the only additive(subtractive?) attack speed debuff in the game, and it looks like someone attempted to edit what I put in the wiki for clarity and botched it pretty bad. I can understand with that horribly broken English why someone would have some trouble understanding wtf was going on.

Exciting, considering I'll trust the crazy build lord of LoL with pretty much anything he comes up with.

Alex Ich has been playing her a lot since she came out and from the last time I seen it,he is building her pretty much how he likes to build kassadin with DFG and Abyssal.

I really don't know about people saying that Cait isn't late game material... She doesn't have the steroids like some other AD carry, but her range is pretty insane, and she can poke pretty well, and safely (not like Kog maw, of course). In late game, I usually use her ult like a karthus ult : either to start a fight (Karth ult is like the best way to start a fight for a tower!), or to snipe someone.
Also, W + E make the teamfights pretty interesting, and I usually am able to get 1+ hit on AD carry before they hit me, so I can win 1v1 because of that slight advantage

TSM picking Sona into Blitzcrank in IPL. Isn't that a lost lane from the beginning? Every single Sona vs Blitz I have played or seen on streams went HUGELY in the favor of Blitzcrank... (ADs are Ezreal (Blitz) and Corki (Sona))

Blitz needs to land pulls to beat sona.
