I've been doing DBlades into TF as my core, but I think replacing TF with BT and a defensive item. Lifesteal feels nice with Hammer stance's built in defenses, and his AD scaling is pretty nuts. Maybe a BT/GA core like Riven? He might also do well with a defensive core like FH/Maw/FMallet or something, since Cannon EQ and Hammer E just hit so hard as it is, and his other base damages (plus stance switching passives) are pretty good.

The point being "Kass players rarely go beyond 2 stacks" is not an assumption that holds when it comes to Kass' lategame.

It's not just because of the nerf (thought that has probably hurt it as well), but mostly because I feel that he has the ability to be verrrry aggressive in lane. Poking and and then Hammer trades give him pretty good "lane bully" status over a lot of tops, and I think it's better to take advantage of that. As for the rest, I think I'd rather have FH over Randuin's, but obviously not if I have a HoG early. Aegis is good, but you usually see that on the support or jungle, so I don't really feel a need for it. On a separate note, seen any Jayce jungle action? I've seen it a couple times in VoDs or streams, his early clears seem slow, but his ganks and skirmishing are pretty good, and he transitions into a good bruiser lategame that can poke well.

BT first Jayce is awesome and has pretty much become my standard opening (boots, 2 dblades first back, BT). It really helps with his nonexistant sustain in lane and ramps up your damage way faster than triforce does. I'm honestly against Triforce on Jaye at this point. A better midgame goal for him is something like BT, phage, hexdrinker, and chain vest and you can finish Frozen mallet later. I don't think Jayce has the base stats to make it through early game building GP5 + Triforce parts. Going Dblades, BT feels so much smoother.

The level 2 jungle ganks he's going to put out only look more scary now. As for jayce, I've been doing a core of BT > FH on him and I like it. Am I the only one who finds he can have mana issues? Maybe I just don't spend enough time in melee form. Not sure what to toss in after that, tried a few things (later triforce seems better than rushing it, lets you act like a tanky ADcarry in the late game, especially for short bursts of "pretending to be an AD carry" where you can abuse your ranged W. Ugh, early harassers with sustain are so rough on him though. Winning trades with hammer QE doesn't help when they heal it off and all damage sticks to you.

If anything, they're weaker because you don't get your sustain naturally and need to get it from having a rank of W. The biggest thing is that his midgame teamfight should be astronomically stronger.

Increased range and slow duration on E, small armor shred (more damage from both you & your lanemate), more damage from Q. I find that quite a buff to level 2 jungle ganks. Lack of sustain really doesn't affect level 2 ganking - potions are enough to heal up after taking lizard.

It's range was nerfed, not buffed. Range reduced to 600 from 650.
