That's what most people do now. Then again, every so often you'll see Wriggles for the armor vs really heavy AD lanes. I'd rather have Doran's, but I can see the idea.

Wriggles is a decent item on Riven. It probably makes sense to get it vs sustained AD harass that is difficult to retaliate against 100% of the time (i.e. panth or gp). Since you get free health from your e, resists are probably a bit better than health on riven (hence 0 additional health builds on riven)

Something else that might be worth trying is Doran's->Cutlass->Bruta. This is the build that Cris, that high elo Riven main, uses. I'm not sure how effective the build is but he is damn good at Riven so it's probably worth a try.

Cutlass is nice in theory, but it's window of power is very small, and after that it doesn't build into anything useful, considering Gunblade spends too much on AP to be anywhere near cost effective for her.

Some random guy i think, no one really seems to enjoy playing with him when you see him on stream

That guide was made before another set of wriggles nerfs to the sustain and cost efficiency. Dorans tends to be stronger as their efficiency per slot and cost is nice, as well as providing a smoother power curve into the midgame lull while you wait for your bt

Olaf, right, CDR Olaf. Throw axe right below you, pick it up, throw again, 0.7s cooldown, its like having 2 autoattacks. Playing him jungle, might be better top but still seems OP as hell.

Yeah, his ganks are kinda mediocre, he really really needs someone to have hard CC in lane and he is particularly bad at ganking middle. But he farms so fast, I think he might be pretty damn good counter-jungle jungler, kinda shyvana style stuff.

I dunno, it's hard to be 100% viable when one of your abilities randomly doesn't work as it does on paper. This is especially true top lane because of how isolated it is, and moreso when you're playing a lane bully like rumble.
