I'm not sure about early DFG on Viktor: sure it's awesome as part of his huge burst, but seeing his lack of instant cc, if people see you using DFG they'll run even before you ult and that's one annoying thing when they outrun your ult with 50hp because you were too busy having animations to follow them.
Never checked actually, does DFG's casting animation take a lot of frame? It always seemed to me it had frames, even if not a proper animation.
DFG doesn't have a casting animation afaik, but the particle does have a bit of a travel time.

My god, I fucking remember that game.
I remember saying "I kept Taric out of the fight, how the hell did Graves 1v3 you guys."
Nocturne insta dies to ignite + graves ult + tower and soraka heals at lvl 3 but ignite+tower takes him down as he retreats so bascially does no damage. (noct isn't very tanky). He also used exhaust after graves used his burst and tower and ignite did the rest. Soraka used heal on noct and he died anyway and only level 3 heal, no ult it seems. Ashe ran past graves to kill taric, then animation canceled the auto and went to hit graves and then canceled that again and volleyed once and cleansed and did no damage because only 2 dlbades. And u focused taric like a baws.

Well yes, I see that NOW.
I only went Taric because I figured the 3 of them would do something. Ashe doing literally nothing was the real problem.
I reckon he doesn't play ad carries a lot and just has ashe because she's 450 and went to dive the low hp guy instead of worrying about the way overfarmed graves killing people and you can shoot him from a safe range.
i played several more jayce games yesterday. i saw the approved jungle guide at solomid and i tried his build. it worked better then anything else i have tried in the jungle, but still was rather unsatisfying. its a q-w-e order to max and was ok. he did have a lot of little tips to maximize jayces clear and use his ult passives to clear asap, plus some videos on how to do combos. it was a good guide really, but his first clear is still abysmally bad. here is a link to the guide if anyone wants to check it out.
i tried some different builds top lane also with great success. i cant stop with my gp5 builds. dorans might give me a stronger early game (where with gp5 he is truly weak), but once you get your first damage item the game can quickly swing to your favor. i went philo hog merc tread bt wits hexdrinker triforce maw and was dominating. i just started getting maw on champs like jayce and hecarim and man that is a good item. i also maxed q first in lane instead of e and it was amazing for poke and wave clearing. i havent tried a true ad build (ie pd bt etc) maybe i will give that a shot tonight.

"This one play defines all of SoloQ"
So true..... XD
Unfortunately, I'm at work, so I haven't listened to the audio yet.

It's basically Saint saying "This is SoloQ right here, that's exactly what this is, this one play defines all of SoloQ" Then the other commentator says some random stuff that wasn't particularly interesting compared to watching you get a Lux laser to the face.

I really want jungle Jayce to be good, but that first clear hurts him so bad. He's one of those junglers who is really only ok because he lacks a damage reducer, sustain, or super strong AoE for the first clear, but goes ok after that. He just seems much better in lane, where he can use his kit to maximum potential.
Also, if I were to jungle him and wanted more clear speed, I think I'd max W first. That AoE field is pretty good, as is the AS steroid. But your ganks would hurt for it, so eh.

yeah he does seem much more suited to laning. being able to switch between melee and ranged is a really nice advantage to either be defensive or offensive depending on how the lane is playing out.
Not really. Malzahar is much better. And among bruisers shyvanna seems faster than jayce to me.
jayce's damage on hit from stance change works on towers, + his max attack speed for 3 hits, and his ability to use trinity make him among the best tops for pushing i'd think, regardless of the rest of his kit.
Shyvanna clears waves 3 times faster, presses Q and rapes towers if she has like a triforce too or a bt or 2. Also, if going purely by how fast you can kill towers nasus should be your #1 pick. TF is also a really really good pusher, clears waves fast and destroys turrets once he has that lichbane.
I know this should go in the loci thread of awesomeness, but... I just used the rune combiner and got an hp/5 quint for an armor/lvl yellow, and a mana/lvl quint. First time it's ever given me anything good! (Last time it gave me an armor per lvl yellow, and a mana per level quint )
To add some actualy substance... when did they change the rune combnier to 2 of the same rune gives u a new one? or has it always been like that, I thought it was 3 of the same, or 5 to get a higher level one.

I'm 190% certain that WQE is a better opening on Jayce. Hammer-Q's damage is non-existent at rank 1/without bonus AD and has a ridiculously long cooldown. Range-Q's damage is less than that of Hammer-W's. Meanwhile, Range-W is an auto-reset + three quick attacks. There's really no contest between level 1 Q and level 1 W, even if you plan on maxing Q first.
Also, CA+5p is always a glaring red flag. Junglers who require that opening to clear safely and effectively are never competitive.

q to slow, w for speed steroid, e for shield, run all the way back to your base like a baus. i dont even know why they try.
played support-ish blitzcrank with a jayce. just hide in bushes threatening a grab while jayce farms and pokes with cannon e+q, completely zone out the opponents. grab, pop up, jayce hammer q's and instagib.

Cloth+5 is the default start on Mundo for both Lilballz and WE.YJTM from what I've seen.
That said, what Monte said is correct--junglers that are required to start Cloth+5 are generally too gimped, but preferring such a start isn't necessarily wrong.
