I've noticed that most of the people who pick the "OP" champs thinking it's a free win usually suck anyway. I even tried Kassadin during the free week recently and holy crap that guy is hard to play. I don't know how he ever got to god-mode free win status. ?? ok here's my guide for kassadin at ~1200 elo: 1. go mid 2. get zoned hard because you're kassadin, get like 10 cs 3. go bot 4. get double kill 5. go top 6. get kill 7. walk into jungle 8. get kill 9. go back to mid now that you're 1k gold ahead of their mid always gank never not gank baddies die to kassadin ganks every time

I find http://www.lolpro.com/ to be quite a good resource for such questions. Check the champs you like and pick the runes for those. Jungle and Top Lane basically all have flat armor seals (yellow) and scaling magic resist glyphs (blue), though flat magic resist isn't too bad either. Since top lanes are mostly AD based, your scaling magic resist will be stronger once the teamfight phase starts and you actually get hit by magic damage. Marks (red): Flat attack damage or armor penetration are common choices for AD based top/jungle champions, usually they are almost exchangeable in their effectiveness. For AP champions like shen or kennen, flat magic penetration is common. For champions like Warwick Attack Speed is nice, too, but usually you can play them with AD runes, too, until you can afford AS runes. Quints (big brown) vary a lot, for junglers it's often +movement speed which is also great on many melee based top champions since you can chase targets down more easily as well as escape ganks. You also can't go wrong with flat armor or flat AD.

Just like... every other mage in the game. Especially since most of them deal the same damage and actually have hard CC. If you gonna die to a Kass gank you gonna die to a Fiddle/Brand/Viktor/LB/Annie/Gragas/Morg/Karthus/Ryze/Veigar/Cass/Ori/Anivia/Fizz/etc ganks too.

Kassadin is also strong because the other mid is gonna be like "Uh he silenced me and used his long cooldowns on me to take a part of my health, better run!". So they don´t even beat him before lvl 6. The only way Kassadin isn´t an insta win is when you get zoned so hard by the jungler you can´t even hit lvl 6 at a reasonable time. It´s kinda sad really, how people really just refuse to learn.

Particularly hilarious as Irelia. "Hoy buddy, thanks for the free stun, now how about you eat some true damage too?" ![]() And mid it's true with Veigar and LB too.

Wards give people a false sense of security, so as long as you know where to ult to evade them, you can clean up some really easy kills.

Particularly hilarious as Irelia. "Hoy buddy, thanks for the free stun, now how about you eat some true damage too?" ![]() And mid it's true with Veigar and LB too. Since i'm a relatively new player (actively playing since maybe 4-5 month) i still remember that phase and i noticed that it comes with experience. Newer players have a "i take damage, i have to run!" reflex, they forget about cooldowns once they lose health. Not panicing, staying to fight and knowing the cooldowns of enemy champions is something you have to learn. I did the same for a long time but then i decided to always stay unless i knew 100% i would die. I actively tried out how much i could actually take which lead to me dying a lot and getting flamed at but i now know when i can actually get in that extra hit or two or when i really, really have to run (unless i play with/against champions i don't have much experience with, then i stay to fight and die).

LoL not only has almost all of the casual and a portion of the hardcore, but everything about it helps people get attached to it (elo, champion roster, teams, true dedication not needed until higher levels, etc). Dota 2 will still bode well with a large amount of the people who played Dota and HoN, along with new people who weren't attracted to LoL. It won't be a small audience, but it won't be near the size of LoL, especially with it dominating moba e-sports. The only reason competitive LoL is so successful in the West is because Western LoL players still live in a deluded fantasy world where they think their favorite players and teams can compete with Asian teams. Western E-sports has a notoriously bad track record for sticking with games after Asian dominance has taken root--just look at competitive BW or DotA. Once reality hits these Western players and fans, LoL could very easily go the same way. If TPA, WE, or one of the MiG teams wins at IPL5 or the World Championships (and I have huge confidence that they can), it could be dire tidings for LoL E-sports in the long run.

Even as someone who has played for 2 years, I make trading mistakes often. It's especially prevalent when I'm in a lane I'm not used to (ie, top) because I don't know the match ups that well. Since I primarily won't encounter bruisers until team fights, I don't know exactly what their power levels are at certain times. It is exactly as you said: and experience issue.

Always assume that they have everything unless you personally see it used? Idk, I get caught sometimes too. The worst is when your teammates lose a fight when they had greater numbers, and when you go for clean up you find out the enemies didn't even need to use ults in that fight.
