What made you think they would revert those nerfs? They were done awhile ago and it is rare for riot to flat out undo what they have done in a live balance patch. It's not rare at all. They just did with Nunu and Nunu was nerfed season 1 long long long LONG ago.

Looking at the Orianna changes again, they actually really concern me - especially her passive.
Anyone who's ever laned against Ori knows how much her AAs hurt. Now they are buffing it so you don't need to rely on mutiple AAs to get the damage out. Hopefully they just make the passive a bit stronger late game instead of touching the early component.
The global CD buff is really nice for playing her, but, again, awful for those laning against her. One nice reprieve to laning against her was that she couldn't activate W immediately after Q landed. Now she'll be able to dish out a lot more damage much easier.
If they're doing what I think they're doing, they are making Orianna's lane into beast mode. This, on top of her already huge utility, will more than likely move her to top tier mid. Don't get me wrong, having more good mids to pick from is awesome (especially Ori), but I think these buffs were definitely over the top.
tl;dr I'm going to be playing a lot more Orianna now.

Regarding Orianna (I didn't see the preview video), isn't it a weaker version of Ziggs' passive, but always available, basically? Buffed ratio in exchange of removing the stacks mechanic?
|
Oriannas passive is better for longer exchanges and she trades better than Ziggs due to her E anyway. Orianna is already one of my main champions and I'll gladly take any buffs, but this might be a bit much. Although less damage but faster cooldown on Q means going oom faster again.

I'm not sure exactly what they're doing to it. But yeah, it's sort of like Ziggs' without a timer. It's going to be really strong vs squishy mids (ie: all of them)

Do you build Chalice on Ori? Been a while since I've played her, gonna have to figure out how to build her again with these changes.

With lower CD on Q, I might consider building Tear...

A lot of the time I'm going RoA, a bit dependent on if I can get the catalyst on the first back and whom I'm up against/what the enemy team is. It's a bit weird, since I don't really feel she gets a lot out of the mana pool (unlike say Karthus/Swain) or the health. I guess I like it because I usually try and get auto attacks in during midgame teamfights and need to get close for that.
With Chalice and double dorans you shouldn't ever run out of mana currently, not sure how much Q is going to get changed, but I doubt it changes much. I only get chalice when I am getting denied blue buff.
Edit: I wouldn't get Tear. It does nothing for your trading and you just purposefully make yourself weaker in lane, just to get a big manapool that you don't need and a bit more ap lategame.

I absolutely agree with gtrsrs about Karthus. His ult isn't that much of a problem imo, in fact he has been like this since the beta, why would they think it's a problem now. The strength of this champ is the fact that he can just regiflash in teamfight, die and still deal insane damage.

Seems to me, the real issue is when a team gets more than 1 "good" global ultimate. Shit starts to get abit "unfair", because of how much pressure you can apply with a global heal (soraka) and global damage (karthus) when ganks happen later on in the laning phase.

Nah bro, he just butthurt by my Karthus rage ults (read: fat fingering E and ulting at random times...)

haha, i was actually thinking about you when i wrote that soniv E>

Having played a lot of Karthus lately, I think the main issue with him is that it's difficult to render him irrelvant in a teamfight. The only person on your team who has a really good chance of killing him in a position where he's mostly irrelevant is your AD carry, and even that can be quite dicey given wall of pain, and then the AP carry sort of- but I've found it's pretty easy to get a lead on most AP's by just playing hyper passive until your jungler comes along (or by just getting side lane kills), so the odds of them bursting you down if you've played well is quite low. Especially since one good wall of pain is all it takes and they're pretty much dead because the rest of your team is going to jump them immediately if they can.
The only champ who I feel can reliably kill him without much risk is Kog'Maw, due to his extreme range. Tristana late game too.
Requium is just the icing on the cake.

A team that can kite a Karthus is a team that will win against Karthus.
Edit: Ezreal, Olaf, Ahri, Ali, Janna - Pro anti Karth team right there

I picked up Ori just before her free week. Funnest champ, the added safety measure on her ult and extra E range are smart and more than welcome. Cheaper Q, stronger W, stronger AA, and across the board CD buffs.. wow. Stronger burst that can be more often, with decreased risk of bad ball positioning. She's gonna be a beast.
|
As an Ori player, I can say the Global change alone is a huuuuuuuuuuuge buff. I wish I knew more about the q changes, sounds bad to me, but overall with w buff, should not be a big deal.
to be clear. Ori didn't need buffs, q was hard to hit but it does so much damage on live you learn to bring it in from weird angles, or (in a team fight) people usually have no Fucking clue where the ball is and you can just send it in on the tank. I know I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth, or w/e the saying is but, I really don't like that q is getting changed.
should be an overall buff but not to my current playstyle. (been going q first since the flat mana change.)
