I think he's FAR more fun than Xerath. Xerath's damage isn't really that difficult to land. That's what makes Ziggs fun - you need to know how to land his shit to do well with him. I've seen some really terror Ziggs just tear me apart.

It's highly likely that I just suck with him, but I have massive mana problems on Ziggs regardless if it's early/mid/late game. So much of his damage is off of his Q bombs and the mana costs on that is pretty darn high.

regi used him on release, when he was OP, but at the slightest nerf everyone dropped him
he's pretty straightforward - build damage, hit skillshots, win the game
when we see games shifting to hyper-lategame-snoozefests as triggered by froggen's anivia, ziggs will see a greater role, because 4 high-damage aoe nukes make ziggs impossible to push on

Except, just what Ryuu just said, his mana costs are pretty prohibitive. As much as I hate having to get Tear on champs, it might be a good buy on him. Maybe something like Boots - Tear - Dcap - AA staff.

Idk, as I said, I'll have to play around with him a little bit.

Just looked Ziggs up. At max level, his Q bomb costs 100 mana on a 4 second cd, which is pretty damn ridiculous considering his base mana at level 18 is 1150 (with no items). So basically Ziggs can get off ~12 Qs before going completely oom assuming he uses no other spells. In poke scenarios he gets pretty darn screwed as 4-5 Qs can eat basically half his mana pool.

Blue buff definitely helps, but with how aggressively and how well competitive teams are about controlling and contesting buffs, a champion that's that reliant on blue is severely hindered.

its a shame... lolpro was pretty ambitious, to have a guide for every champion for every viable role competitively. It is missing a lot though. I think they are missing top lane warwick, top lane panth, kayle as a carry or bruiser or jungler (she can do all pretty damn well), etc.

by the time they get these things out, everything will already be out of date probably.

It used to be accessible but Riot killed the method used to access it (which I'm pretty sure worked on all servers). All there is now is rough estimates on various sites that aren't terribly accurate.

If you understand enough about the game, you shouldn't need guides. I know kayle's cooldown on her E, how much damage she does (experience), what her skills do, and her weaknesses in lane. From that I know how to deal with her as any champion (and yes, some champs will just have to tower hug, try to get the lane to push, and wait for ganks). I know her clear speed and how little she relies on buffs, so I also know when she can gank. I know her common item builds and where most of her damage comes from, so I know how to counter a kayle that I meet, as well as what the advantages and disadvantages of building certain items on her are.

Studying guides is like studying past exams. You memorize the steps, but don't understand how to solve the problem.
I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

NA servers are completely fucked at the moment so no, you probably won't get a dodge or loss of elo if you quit client (if you try reconnecting though it'll bring you to the "Reconnect to Game" button and you won't be able to play anyway).
