As for bans it doesn't matter. Just ban shit you are not playing, them getting Olaf/Mundo/Ahri/Kennen/Soraka won't win them the game.

Varus seems really strong at the moment and this is before people have learned him properly. His arrow can do really nice damage and can zone quite well and hit ulti is god-like in teamfights. He is also a decent counter pick for mid against champs with no sustain or low range ones.

Maybe the Blitz resurgence will spark a return of Sivir. Although spell shield isn't great against all cc, it is pretty good against blitz hooks because of the similar long cooldown at low levels. IMO though the biggest problem with Blitz is the retarded movespeed that you get with mobilities and W that lets him always get into position to throw out the hard cc in the lategame. I would be okay with always being pushed to my tower early game and having 1 positioning mistake lead to death while Blitz is being basically unkillable if Blitz didn't have the ability to turn so many games by creating a 4-5 teamfight.
This really sets apart Blitz support from say, Volibear support. Both have a bunch of cc (although Blitz has a little better because he never has to leave brush and has super long range), both have strong base stats, both have a super strong early defensive passive that makes them close to unkillable, but the MS buff for Blitz is longer duration with shorter cooldown and more bonus MS. That's really strong.

I think its funny how everyone is now considering Varus as a possible mid out of all the AD's, where that never would have even been brought up if Phreak hadn't shown it in the spotlight.....
Its not like he has anything that would really make him better than any other AD Mid (not saying AD mid is bad)....percent health damage and healing reduction are pretty crappy mid, his ult just snares and does nothing to stop casting.

wiki says 550
pretending you can decide his viability without even playing him based on 50 range is pretty lol though

Its his range (Q) and ability to have decent burst, not to mention he really punishes slow champs. but on the downside squishy and his only decent escape is his ulti.

Varus kinda weird
His ult just doesnt DO anything lol i tried to gib a shen under tower with it before i read the description. Yay, 80 dmg (of 200 hp left xD)
Would be more fun if he had mobility. 3 skillshots, 2 of which dont do much and a passive that needs to be activated with said skills... wonder if he'll see competitive play. Maybe if his ult gave him dmg reduction / affected champ or something. What with the terrible range. Cant attack from outside gapcloser ranges, cant get out of dodge again...

His ult is very good actually, it really wins team fights (much better then snipe ult) can allow escape or prevent escape. His mobility is his weakness but hes alot like kog in that respect. Also why not just gib a shen with Q? no risk of turret touching you.

the ult basically lets you peel for yourself, something very few AD carries can do.

Skillorder would be R>Q>E>W I guess, or does anyone see a benefit in maxing W before E, i dont since it has to be triggered by other abilities but maybe someone can enlighten me^^.

I was just messing around killed him after that with q of course. completly wiffed my first qs, but the smartcasting chargeup on Q is a nice new feature.
i dont get the kog comparison. Kogs slow lasts for 4 (5?) seconds and doesnt need to directly hit. He can stand far back and gets long range autos for half the time, firing from outside any click-to-hit skills other than nauti ult.
Varus ult is a long cd, has a slim hitbox, doesnt last as long, only affects anything if you hit and then only spreads to nearby targets. Then he doesnt have range. His skills are loooong range but they have long cooldowns too.
So Kog for kiting/protect and varus for burstcombos that can win a fight in the time his ults down?

Ashe can keep up because of volley and 600 range. MF is borderline because she has a ton of damage early. If someone with a multiple person snare and shitty slow had good damage early it would be fucking weird.

Its pretty easy to trigger the stacks actualy with a quick Q or E. Personaly i would say R>Q>W>E. the range on E is pretty small so its hard to actualy land it ahead of someone and slow em for a long duration while W gains 0.75% per level and 4 on hit dmg.

Is Varus good? Anyone tried him?

From the looks of it: very strong in lane and very strong in teamfights. Can't really ask for better.
