It's strange then that he seems so weak in the jungle but I suppose that's due to me favoring movement speed and slows over combat stats, lack of wriggles, and the negative penalties on Q and W vs creeps. Everything is fun in bot games though:p

This Varrus guy feel very inspired from Windrunner. :o

In all seriousness, as I say every time a new champion is released. You can't really judge him on what you read or even on what you see others do, you gotta play him often and numerous times to form a solid opinion. I have a feeling we'll have some interesting thoughts on him in a week or two but now? Too soon. Far too soon. Perhaps I am too reserved in that matter.
I can usually form an opinion based on what TL says in gd, the general reaction after they have played him, and just seeing him operate in my games, playing against him. I have never played as lee sin, but I have a pretty good idea of how good lee sin is, very.
You can form a general opinion but what I am saying is, saying "X is terrible" is one of the most sure fire ways of ending up incorrect and formulating an opinion without actually having any data to back it up. For example, Release Talon. Release Ori. You can't gather a good sense of a champion's worth by a few pbe games and a spotlight. All I am saying.
And thanks for the ezreal answers folks.

Blitzcrank is retardedly OP and I think the winrate for teams with blitz is higher than teams without blitz.

I seem to remember a red post or some such saying how they admit Blitz was perhaps too good then they'd like but because it all revolved around the hook it was okay. Mind you I believe this was before the nerf to some ad range move speeds. If anyone wants to dig for that feel free.
I dunno, Blitz has always been good perhaps too good and seeing him more and more is ticking me off as I end up having to play dodge the hook entire lane phase. It's most certainly annoying and tedious to deal with.

Blitz IS too strong. But there are so many things that are OP in LoL, it's impossible to keep up. At least we have enough OP champs to fill both teams with them easily. Yay.

Theres allways been these fases. They nerf heals or healingsupports get nerfed and people start trying out different stuff. Leona and blitz stuck and are actually pretty good. Had a nautilus top, leona bot and blitz jungle in my team (i was trist). Long since I been part of such a quick win. If an enemy was in sight, it was dead 3 seconds later.

Anivia is as good as blitz imo, good anivia makes it impossible for the enemy to stay in the jangle. 1 good wall and it's 4v5.

Varus is available.
Also, after looking at the champion's spotlight, I don't like his animations. His bow feels kinda awkward, and he is so hunched. It looks like they wanted him to feel spidery when he walks, or something. Piercing Arrow doesn't look too impressive to. I saw the charged Powershot from DotA 2's Windrunner, and its visual and sounds actually go greatly with how it's a charged ability dealing heavy damage at a long range. Charging a max Piercing Arrow then releasing it looked... underwhelming. :/ I'm going to see if he's in featured games, so I can obs him closer.

It's a little late to be saying this, but Jiji is streaming Varus at the moment. He got behind because of some silly early mistakes not relating to Varus, but seems to have stabilized.

Hes the lovechild of quasimodo and sylvanis windrunner.

Na, Sylvana's actually impressive and her model/animation show her sleight-of-hand. Varus is just... well, I took a moment to look at him last-hitting and the thought that came was "the bow and particle remind me of that toy I had when I was 10, a transformer dude that was a purple tank, and you could make him launch plastic missiles with a pump". It's both hilarious and sad at the same time.

And everytime i ban him, my team starts raging "Why didn't you ban morgana/kassa/shaco/ww/shen/ahri/lee", while every single time i play against bc, my botlane loses so hard the game is over in 20 minutes. I am quite convinced that bc is a very good ban at low elo, soraka also. Botlanes just lose hard to those two, and when your botlane loses hard, it does not matter what the rest of the team does when the fed ad carry comes in and rips you a new one.

Whoever was asking about rumble if you're losing to rumble as lane ww who is a classic counter to him you probably just need to practice playing against rumble instead of blindly assuming that if you lost your lane you was countered as opposed to misplaying. There's an awful lot of losing lanes you can win by playing well and you should worry a lot less about picks. Picks are hugely overrated unless you're a top level player practicing playing lanes you can't or shouldn't win is very good practice for real play when you will only be ahead small fractions of the time unless you got to counterpick a weak champ.

I've played a lot of Blitz, and his ability to just get a guy gibbed is unparalleled. Even if you manage to dodge his hooks in lane, there is still going to be some dumb ass who gets hooked mid/late game. Jungle blitz is even more op cause he can actually get money to buy items. Hooking enemy buffs from behind the camp and stealing them that way is funny as hell too. I ran two games of double jungle with an amumu/blitz duo last night, Game 2 i stole doubles and red, amumu got wolves blue, and we got 3 man first blood mid lane. I went bot got vayne two kills, amumu went top and got lee sin a kill. It was pretty hilarious.

Bleh all the featured games are ranked teams. I wish you could have a little bit more control over what you could spec. I'm not super interested in unranked or low elo featured matches

Is Varus range 550 or 600? If it is 600 he might be viable.
