Athene built a fanbase from WoW, as a fairly high ranked Holy paladin in I believe BC era of the game(correct me if it's actually wrath) he made several video's of a troll nature proclaiming himself the #1 paladin in the world and his comedy of being so serious you knew it was a joke brought him a number of fans. He expanded into sc2 and League mostly to have fun but I am sure to also gain more fans. He even claimed to be the best sc2 player in the world at one point(if memory serves)
He gained 1000+ referrals(via his fanbase of course) and as apart of the referral program Riot has an item is now named after him. Of course because he's a strait up troll and can be annoying to many his popularity varies greatly from person to person.

Guys got any tips on team fighting with Lee Sin? I unlocked him a few days ago and so far I have had no problems with laning or jungling with him, or in small scale fights but I completely fail when large team fights happen. I can never land Q on a squishy character therefore it always seems like I am doing very little damage and gets focused down a lot, also using his ult is a major pain as well. I am sorry if this is the wrong place to post this,

You can try to kick the other teams initiator back into the squishy then qq the squishy. You can safeguard your initiator, ee and walk behind a target and qrq them into your team. Lee Sin has a lot of different ways of jumping in and out of the action peeling for your squishies.
Edit: weave in auto attacks on what ever your team is focusing to keep the energy high in longer fights.

It's more important to be disruptive and using your shield properly to help you + another teammate soak damage than actually worrying about doing damage to their squishies. You're king of cleanup anyways. You also don't need to hit Q on a squishy to do damage. E + passive is really strong as it is, and Q is really just to help you move around.

Glacial on corki vs a kill lane just seems like such a good idea now that I think about it. For 1500~ gold you get alot of armor, which will let you live through getting grabbed, + CDR and mana which will let you poke the 0 sustain kill lane out of lane. It just seems like such a good idea >.<.
