If I'm Cho'gath against Blitzcrank, I often intentionally get down to 2-3 stacks and don't recharge them after a point. You can fairly reasonably dodge his pull at this size, but you don't have any chance at all when you're at 6 stacks. I wouldn't say it's a good thing to get pulled, in principle your team should be able to jump on them when they try to focus you, but in reality it never seems to happen. At least for me.

Which is enormously frustrating. They blow every last cooldown on you, while your team is sitting there like pansies. WHY!?!? -_-

there should never be a point when you're intentionally not getting stacks just for reduced size

Depends on the stage of the game. Later on doesn't matter what chmap you are an ad carry kills you in 5 seconds and getting pulled is insta death who cares if they blow cds they can just back off and reengage.

AD carries are op like that though, that's why I like to get thornmail and kill them while they kill them.

I'm starting to think that I don't deserve to be at my Elo. I've always told my friends you can carry yourself up to 1600's and stuff but I've been playing on a smurf and I've lost like 3-4 straight at 1400's because I haven't been carrying hard enough to win my games.

Well you can either drop some Elo or start deserving your current one. Your call.

Sometimes you're going to just lose games. Like twice a season I've dropped like 10-15 games in a row based on luck or tilting and then you just rebound and win that many in a row or like 8/10 for awhile until things level off.

cho is my main and this happens all the time. people are afraid to engage on the team that is blowing all their cooldowns on me. it is very frustrating, especially at my level (low level play)

I think that especially around the 1200 elo range, games are pretty random. Because everyone that starts ranked start there, and then you have the guy who was scared of ranked and wanted to be good enough right next to the guy who got 30 off of botgames. This means that you have a lot of people there who just don't belong there, in both directions, and that means that a lot of games are decided simply by which team gets the far better players. And that means that no matter how good you are, you will get games you just can't carry.

Yea its kinda funny when you are at that 1200-1350 elo range where it really is random when you get people 1st time ranked who are clueless and those who are smurfing new accounts but are like 17-1800 elo players lol. Like randomly in games you just get someone who is clearly better then everyone else in the game or someone who clearly doesn't belong and then you look at their wins and of course they have less then 10 cause they are basically playing their elo placement games. Just adds a bit more randomness to that elo range because its the placement range.

the only ranked game this season that I played was a complete stomp, I was the only unranked player on my team of 1300-1400s and they had 4 unranked players and a 1200. So yeah, felt like a pretty random win.

I think it says a lot about Elo Hell when the closer you get to your true Elo the harder games become. I literally stomped all of my games on my smurf until I got to high 1800s and started losing some games. I still win more than I lose but I notice games are actually losable.

Edit: I can't believe I actually received a PM about this... Look guys, I know "real" is an expression, and this was pretty much a "troll" post, because IMO I think "real" is a stupid expression and is used in extremely wrong situations... I'm sorry that I didn't use enough sarcasm to make it blatantly obvious.

Pretty much. After tanking all my placement matches I ended up at just above 800. From then on out I didn't lose a game until 1000. I don't think I had a 4v5 in there, but I got fed enough every game that that would not have mattered. Now I am struggling to break 1500, so my true elo is around there.

My normal games, even blind pick, are so much better than my 1200 ranked games. Some effort put into teamcomp, solid leashes, fairly consistent warding, contention for objectives, non-complete shit CS (110-120 by 20 min is average) etc. Sore thumbs here and there, but those are inevitable.

My Ranked games? I TRONDMERE OR FEED, NEED TO GUARD TOWER FOR 1 MINUTE TOWER RUSH. GANK KILL ME, JUNGLER NO GANK, I AFK HUEHUEHUE.

tbh, I find the same thing and I'm at about 1500 atm. I think it's mostly that people in normals are more laid back and happy to do whatever than in ranked games where you have on average one person on tilt and one person who isn't happy with the role the rest of the team 'forced' them to play etc etc etc.

also it probably helps that I think my normal elo is through the roof

Viktor so buggy, like 60% of my lasers had the graphical bug, and something like a third of that didn't even do damage either.
Well I'm not playing him again until he's fixed.

hehe yeah i know the feeling. I stopped playing ranked (and have lost sooo much ELO because of it over a year) because of it. I'm a support player and so i'm completely at the mercy of having people who can be coordinated. I'm a very solid blitzcrank/karma/taric player, but those supports are MUCH less likely to be game changers than alistar.soraka janna all of whom i have a 80+ winrate with, while the supports i DO play i'm very very strong with them, but they are just the weaker supports. so i can't force wins in lost games with them. so i'm around 40% winrate with those. and with blitz i'm 10%, because sometimes my team is just miserable. I've have numerous games where i pull their carry into the 5 of us, and my team literally just runs away from the vayne i just separated from her supports and tanks. and then i get 1v5'd and die. and they can't win a 3v5 because vayne picks off 1 of them ect ect.

in normals i was bot with EZ, and we got 7 kills in 10 minutes because my pulls were on point and EZ was capitalizing on everything. ranked is by far worse than normals until 1750ish, where when i played on my friends account, i had about the same coordination i was getting in normals.
