It's just how the tournament decided to run it, dunno. It allows space for targeted bans which is cool.

Its the tournaments extra rule, probably going to be implemented in more because of how many champions there are now

Yeah true. Anyone knows if this is gonna be standard for every tournament? Imo they should make the picks and bans the same way as dota: You ban 1-2 champs, you pick 1-2 champs. It makes the picking section way more interesting.

If you keep adding bans, a second ban phase is logical simply because having so many bans in a single phase before picks simply isn't sensible. First ban phase is essentially blind banning because neither team is actually committed to anything. At that point you can only guess what the other team is going to use, so practically speaking you can only really use bans in that phase vs general "OP" heroes, heroes the other team is known for, and stuff you don't want to face. Second ban phase allows your bans to actually interact with your opponent's picks.

If you put 4-5 bans per team in the first phase, people will just run out of stuff to ban because there aren't that many blind must-bans.

And it would get quite unbearable for lower Elo(s) or soloQ in general.
Not even talking about banning Janna-Sona-Soraka-Alistar and first picking Taric or Leona, for example. Well, there's Lulu, Nunu and Blitz now but still.
I have a tendency to see my fav champs get FotM, or to like champs for reasons different from "OP", even tho they are anyway, so the most bans, the less champs I have.
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

wow this esl commentator going on a rant about people in chat. what a little bitch. they consistantly missed fights and just stuttered and spluttered through the play by play, get called on it and then dont even accept their mistake lol. they expressly say they are now gonna take comments from chat then get defensive when people on the internet arent nice them.

one of them even has the balls to say they are doing it (casting) for the viewers benefit, what a load of crap.

in terms of solo queue banning it basically comes down to trying to bait people into banning shaco so that you can get the bans you want. and even then id say 3/6 bans come from a pool of <10 champs. so the whole process is kinda dull. it would be nice if banning was more interesting in general. id love to see a system of 1 pick and 1 ban per player, done at the same time. 10 bans may feel a bit much but it feels weird that in solo queue you still have a 'captain'. so the guy you dont know, you will never see again and has 1 more elo than you gets to make all the choices? suuuuuuper.

If he wants to cast, he's got to develop a thicker skin and get practice.

Some days, you're just going to suck, but the more experience you have, the fewer days that is.

Quick notes on Spec Mode:
  • Spec Mode uses separate servers from actual games so will not introduce lag into the actual Live game. The new servers should be able to handle the stress from spec mode. Worst case scenario on release, they just temporarily disable the feature or put in limits.
  • Riot is aware of how streamers need views to make money. They are probably the only company that features player streams after all. Main thing here is that streams = hearing the pros and hearing a personality, not just seeing the game. One main reason of being able to drop into a featured game is to let people practise being a caster in a high elo game.
  • 3 min delay was tested and deemed to be adequate. Can always be adjusted if abuse cases are found.
  • If you think this is cool, wait till you see the finished replay system.

The replay system better be good because it's incredibly overdue.

CLG do this pretty much every game vs NA teams. People should start learning their set-ups better.

Pick someone who scales better and passive lane? You can literally not stop him from becoming a CC machine, but he won't do the amount of damage that other champs can, and he can't push as hard as like a Karth or Morg.

CLG dragon control/timing is bad as usual. Send 4 top as dragon spawns.
