Shen is probably gonna stay permaban 'till they nerf his ult range. I can't see them nerfing much else on his kit at this point.

I think they should make it so that the farther he is away, the longer the teleport takes. The shield is a reasonable part of it, but suddenly changing the odds of the battle is the OP part.

the op part is winning all 3 lanes for your team without needing a second summoner(teleport) and winning your lane without an ultimate.

...nerf the shield from stand united. It's not rocket science. It's far too high for a shen that isn't building AP. 800 shield base on t3 ult is pretty freakin game changing.

I dunno I don't think his mobility from the teleport is the problem I think it's the fact he shows up while pretty much giving a big "NOPE" to the team trying to take someone down in a fight. Bring it in line with Soraka's heal or at least closer to it and I think Shen will be less bothersome to deal with and his ult wouldn't always be a life saver that turns into a kill for his team.

Weirdest Game EVER. Team comp in this normal blind pick is Riven (me trying to practice her)/Vayne/Soraka/Sona/Zil. All three of the supports went mid while me and vayne both solod. The supports would roam a bit and help bot but....we won lol. vs a GP/Fid/Ryze/Blitz/Yorick.

Of course they need to nerf his range, there's no reason not to when TF, Pantheon, and Nocturne all had theirs nerfed

Which is pretty much irrelevant for almost all practical purposes. Shen split pushes and team does something elsewhere, allowing Shen to end up exactly where he's needed. His shield more than offsets the 2 seconds he's not in the fight.

You nerf his ult range and he can't splitpush with impunity. He has to stay somewhat close by. He can push out a side lane and still get back into a midlane fight. It greatly restricts his abuse cases and solves people needing to play like there is always an extra person for the other laners. It doesn't need to be quite as small as TFs range, but it does need to be greatly reduced.

TF and Pantheon are OP at backdooring with unlimited range on their ultimates, shen isn't.

However, having a global teleport like that is hard to balance, so they should probably nerf it atleast so you can't teleport from bot to top (and vice versa).

They really need to buff him in some other way if they want to nerf his ulti though, I don't think he ever would be picked with TF-range ulti and the rest of his skill set untouched.

We at Riot pride ourselves on our diverse team that makes diverse champs to spread diversity for our diverse conmunity. Due to this we will make these changes to please all you diverse fellows with the loving enjoyment you all want from you diverse game:

Changelog:
- All champs are now melee
- Stealth had been removed from any champs with it
- Globals have been removed, all spells now have 125 range as do all auto attacks.
- All champs have some form of gap closer
- Last hitting had been removed - now all champs begin with 300k gold
- All champs are given some form of sustain
- Losing has been removed - you're all cute little winners
- All champs are given some form of steroid
- CC has been removed from the game - we felt it was unfair for people to not be able to do anything for a few seconds
- Mid and Bot lane removed, they were just not diverse enough for our diverse community
- Jungle and buffs removed, they just aren't fair against the team that doesn't take them!
- You can no longer die, if your hp drops to 0 you simply gain it all back!
- The game automatically ends after 5 minutes, both teams being victorious.

We believe these changes will "balance" the game at all skill levels for our diverse LoL community.

This, a thousand times this. If Shen has a big strength then add some weaknesses (like the shit stats he used to have) to balance it out. Don't make everyone the same like in Age of Empires. Same with the whole shaco thing, strong early, weak late, fuck the whole one smooth line thing.
Only the weak link is strong enough to break the chain.

See, when characters have something unique about them that makes them really strong Riot does do this. They do nerf them and add on weaknesses to them. Then the character is rarely or almost never picked or else becomes a really niche pick. Take Orianna for example. Take the example of AD casters like Panth or Talon. Champions who are unique almost always end up getting nerfed into oblivion because Riot's options are to either do that, have a champ that's superior to most other champs, or else go back and re-work tons of their prior champions in order to make more diverse characters.

Name like one character who was released with something truly unique that wasn't completely broken or completely worthless until Riot nerfed/buffed them. I sure as hell can't. And Shen isn't even all that unique, he just has the last of the truly global TP ults.

no, I don't see. Actually, shen can simply push top and his team can push bot. Sure that's not backdooring but it's still hella strong. You can't even send someone against him top because with good wards shen can just ult bot and avoid you.
Right now the only thing you can do against a splitpushing shen is initiate with a noct and gib someone during his ult, or have really really high burst that lets you gib someone before shen can ult.

Everything isn't the same. Urgot vs kogmaw bot for example. Leona vs soraka. panth vs nasus. leblanc vs morg. shyvana vs nocture. tons of different characters than have vastly different kits and power curves and are all viable.

Globals are just too strong. Don't confuse removing a bad mechanic with homogenizing the game.

I've had good success with running something that scales well with TP top. Can't even remember when we really lost because of Shen. But yeah i usually ban him too, just one of those champs that causes so much QQ if you don't. Funny that there is now maybe 4-6(Kass, morg, shaco, Shen, ww pop o mind) in my 1480~ range that you HAVE to ban, or people will start crying. :I And Riot only gives me 3 bans, qq.

Oh, and that idea about teleporting taking longer according to distance is golden, wonder why i haven't thought about it. Maybe even have a shield strength that scales with distance as well.

This is one of the things that sucks so bad about dominion. There's virtually no difference in strategy between team comps. Every champ that gets picked has pretty much the same power curve. Very significantly, the pace they go up it never changes between games. I think people don't really appreciate how much variety it introduces into the game to have the possibility of playing vs either a farmed or not farmed hero. A game with brand with top cs is not only totally different from a game with a tf, it's totally different from a game with a brand who's just kinda derping. Those two players will have different K/Ds but give you pretty much the same experience in domin and it makes it so fucking bland and repetitive. The fact SR is still so unlike dominion and doesn't really seem to be getting more similar to it is very pleasing to me.

I always run Olaf vs Shen.

Olaf stomps on Shen in ways that are ungodlike assuming you dont use your true damage into his shield.

I just played like the best game of solo queue like... ever. Everyone was friendly, everyone was flexible in roles, no one argued, and everyone on our team played decently. No surprise we ended up taking top and mid tower at the 8 minute mark, controlling dragon and killing their nexus in 18:37. I feel accomplished, and have made four new friends. My faith in the LoL community has never been stronger.
