My noob opinion:
He's kinda weak until mid-lategame tho (but good with or vs ganks). Generally, in low-level solo queue, either your team will troll/want to surrender if it's behind after 20 minutes, or the enemy team will throw due to poor decision-making regarding lategame objectives. So playing Ryze seems like flipping a coin unless you can outplay the enemy mid during lane-phase which is hard vs the fotm mids.

Yeah Ryze is pretty good in ganks but I wouldn't trust my jungler if you're looking for a hero to carry bad players with. He also really requires his own rune page which will burn up additional IP/RP since you have to run all the mana crap rather than the usual regen/AP runes.
Sion is a pretty sick pubstomper from the mid lane.

i think ryze performs extremely well against most common mids, assists ganks better than like 90% of champs, and is a great choice. i have never understood the common sentiment that he's weak early

Oh, I forgot to mention-- A good solo mid player playing sion can easily carry games against people who don't work together. Just run teleport/ignite and don't be afraid to telegank when bot pushes or in response to some tower diving. Always catches people (teammates included) offguard in solo queue, and once you get good with sion you can easily demoralize the other team + get fed enough that they just roll over.
I say this not from experience, but from duo queuing with a 2k mid player who's around 1500 with me due to not playing any games.

What solotop beats Renekton from lvl 1-9 in a pure laningsituation right now? Cus I cant really find any...

Doesn't really work.I've played at like 1100 elo and even if you go 10/0 in lane if people get some descent items you just get useless.

Kennen beats him.
Morderkaiser beats him unless you get shit on by a gank early on.
Riven CAN beat him, but it's a pretty even match. Skill / Jungler dependant.
Warwick can outsustain him, need heavy armor / defensive masteries though. Will most likely need a gank to get a kill.
Lane Udyr is also decent.
I'm sure theres more, but Renekton is a strong all around top with decent dmg and mobility, so generally it comes down to who is the better player or has the better jungler.

Well, I feel like Ryze does not need his jungler that much. If he just plays carefully in lane, I feel like he should be fine as he scales better into the late-game. Also, running armor yellow, magic resist blue and movement speed quints is good with him, and those are pretty popular runes.

I'm using my generic defensive mage runepage mpen/scaling mp5/flat MR/MS on Ryze, doesn't work that bad. I'd had trouble vs a Brand because I wanted to abuse his W cooldown with QWQ combos, but it's mana-intensive before Tear and he's got such range on hit that if he runs back right after it's taking too long to catch up.
Rune prison #1 gank assist though.

Last time I laned vs renek:
After some convincing my jungler not to level 2 gank top I completely forgot they had a lee sin and I died first blood at level 1, and traded 1 for 1 when he hit 6 in a tower dive. I still destroyed him after with Udyr. Hahaha, pretty sure udyr wins damn hard.

How does irelia fare early game after her nerfs? Also how good is renekton nowadays? I'm looking to get a new champion and I'm kinda torn between these two.

I really find Irelia superweak in her first few levels. She can be bullied so easily, her sustain is virtually void and if you try to activate hiten style to heal a bit more you'll just spend your mana faster. I'd only play her against super passive/weak early on laners, and if they don't outscale her.

Just looked up on the stackable items for the funsies, and something caught my eye.
The gold efficiency of SotO and Mejai's is much better than Leviathan. Leviathan becomes gold efficient at 10 stacks whilst SotO and Mejai's become efficient at 5 stacks.
Why is Leviathan so undervalued? The 15%DR is not exactly loads better than the 15% CDR or 15% MS.

It is , reading the chatlogs makes my day, tho I wish I could punish some of the players in the game that arent the subject.

what's it mean to "camp" top lane? I rarely play jungle, but I'm usually top and i've never been "camped" by either their jungler or mine. initially i thought it was just an excuse people make when they don't buy wards after their first trip, except when the jungler ganks via lane bush. but i've had a few of my junglers say that they'll camp my lane whenever I'm up against someone aggressive or a baddie from a previous game of theirs. maybe if i knew what exactly they were doing, i could help and make it more effective maybe
