If they decreased the mana cost of Soraka's heal by half (at least during the early levels) while also removing the mana restoration to self, it would be a good change, but as it is she's going to run out of mana after like 3 casts. Meanwhile Sona gets slight nerfs to her early game, but basically remains untouched otherwise. Soraka is still going to rock the house in long attrition wars, but her early game is going to be horrendous, so that is probably going to be irrelevant.

Yes, but WW really doesn't need that much healing in the new jungle. It's a completely beneficial trade for WW.

if you knew how ridiculous his level 1 vorpal blade damage/spam is beforehand then you know why hes gonna be really annoying. they buffed the damage on it. Hes going to be immovable and annoying as fuck top lane. your gonna have to send vlad or kennen or some one else with infinite resources that isnt melee.

vorpal costs more energy late-game
taunt costs more energy late-game (though he does get more back, i will cede)
taunt duration decreased by 0.5 seconds at rank 5
channel time and shield duration decreased at all ranks for his ult

so yeah, a lot of areas he got a lot stronger on (damage, energy retention), but he lost some of his utility
i think you guys are blowing his buffs out of proportion

better early-game? yes, for sure. still have the problem of doing jack-all past mid-game? pretty much :\

edit: yeah, i'm kinda playing devil's advocate here - i'm moderately excited for my original favorite champ to be getting buffed. but COME ON GUYS he's not like skarner or rammus or morgana level strong imo

I like how you completely neglected to mention the HUGE buff to his ki strike lol

also, WW's passive is now a crappier version of MF's W O_O

A little overdone in my opinion, something more subtle would fit Vayne better.

A noticeable difference in the hardest lane to balance in the game

Fortunately, Sona is brought because she has a very good mid-lategame, which was affected only slightly. I expect her to still be the top pick, followed by Janna, Alistar, Nunu and Leona in some order, with Taric getting picked until people realize he's still dogshit and then going to cry in a corner with Soraka.

Question about the shen buffs - the patch notes say
Cooldown is now reduced by 1.5 seconds whenever Shen attacks instead of 2 seconds when being attacked

Note it doesn't mention that the cooldown was only reduced by autoattacks by champions, rather than in general. So for the changes does this mean that the cooldown is reduced whenever shen attacks anything or just when he attacks other champions? This would make a significant difference to jungle shen, if not to laning. And I can see it either way - though I'm leaning towards interpretting it as all his attacks lower its cooldown, it isn't clear.

WW still life steals, he is buffed because the sustain nerf is tiny and he still has more than enough to faceroll the jungle.

Amidst all the Shen buffs, no one is talking about Nautilus. I think he's going to be really damn good, as both of Xypherous's previous champions were. That's a lot of CC and he sounds like he'll be a good straight up tank, though figuring out where to play him will be the real trick.

It did mention "Champion" in the previous wording, so I would assume it's against anything. Normally I would question that, but with the extent of his other buffs I really would be surprised if it was only against champions.

Oh, and don't forget that the CD reduction on Ki Blade is 3 seconds with Fient up. And Ki Strike's damage is higher. And his Taunt lasts half a second longer at early ranks and now does a small but appreciable amount of damage. And he heals more with Vorpal Blade.

But again, he's going to destroy Top Lane so hard that his jungle is going to go unnoticed.

I reserve my judgment until the spotlight comes out so I know how he works.

Just based off his kit, he could work well in the jungle with good ganks with his Q pull then E slow and then passive stun. If you wanted to go for clear speed, his w looks promising.
Anyone know if his R is a targetable? If so, that's another move that will make him that much harder to get away from.
Ganking combo R->Q->Passive/E = dead, and you could throw in W in there for that extra bit of damage. I guess it comes down to the numbers and mana costs in the end.
